We had the good fortune of connecting with Christopher Harvey and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Christopher, what do you attribute your success to?
The most importing factor leading to my success is continually seeking God first and remain humble. Being spiritually rooted continues to open my mind and heart to so much becoming a very humbling process for me! This allowed me to come to the realization that my aspirations as a musician were mine and mine alone. I got what I gave at the end of the day. If I didn’t spend time honing my craft, then it wasn’t going to go anywhere.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a musician that brings an unparalleled style of playing dissimilar to anything you have heard and my jovial personality coupled with my astonishing sound will captivate any listener. I possess a unique ability to adapt and play across multiple genres, I am always ready to invocate the world of music.
I am proud to be a native of Macon, GA. “Where Soul Lives”, I grew listening to the likes of Otis Redding, James Brown, Al Green and many more. I’ve had the pleasure of performing alongside an array of artists including Dottie Peoples, Donald Byrd, Ricco Barrino to name a few!
My journey as a professional musician certainly has not been an easy one. I’m reminded of the saying “to achieve you have to believe.” One of my initial struggles was viewing myself as a professional. I’ve always had people tell me that I was an outstanding musician. But, for whatever reason, I would never perceive myself as such. Once I began to view and carry myself as a professional that is when everything changed.
Along the way, I’ve learned to always “See it Through” and Strive for the Highest”. For me I would easily get discouraged when the gigs were not consistently rolling in or if my social media posts were only getting 2 or 3 views or likes.
Getting involved with music is easily one of the best decisions I have ever made. My love and unexplainable passion for playing the sax along with my ability to play by ear helped me to excel as a student musician. I couldn’t fathom where I’d be right now had I not joined the band as it kept me from potentially going down a wrong path. It afforded me many travel opportunities, various awards and even helped me pay my way through college.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My beautiful wife and 2 amazing daughters. They are my support system and a big part of my motivation to consistently find different ways to stand out and be nothing of a stellar musician.
I also would like to extend credit to my parents. They showed me what it means to work hard and stay committed to moving forward.
