We had the good fortune of connecting with Chloé Lucan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chloé, how do you think about risk?
I look at risk taking as a necessary function to achieve new things. A lot of people hear the word “risk” and think of “danger” but they should reframe it to hear “Possibility!” It’s been a driving force in my career that’s allowed me to work on projects and meet people that I wouldn’t have been able to if I hadn’t taken the risk.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a Stylist, Costume Designer and Creative Director. For every project I’m on, my primary focus is the narrative and the context its being told. Whether it’s a commercial for lotion or music video I love to develop stories around the product or talent and illustrate that using clothing and other visual mediums.

What I love most about what I do is that it’s a collaboration of talent banded together. Each department is its own unique puzzle piece that we have to mold together to form the picture (project) that tells the story and every single picture/project is different. And most times that’s the easy part! The challenge is working within a limited budget or on an incredibly short deadline. But as you continue to work in any creative industry you learn how to make art with what’s at your disposal.

I want the world to know that I’m a motivated creative with a curious spirit and exciting point of view. I’m Capable, I’m knowledgeable and I’m Available for booking Nationally!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting me in Atlanta our first stop off the plane would be to Holiday Bar, at the Interlock for cocktails by the Best Bartender and Owner Camaran Burke. Maybe then pop into Ant/Dote to see what new pieces arrived and check out their amazing sale. Then we’d head to Poor Calvin’s for an early dinner. And finally, we’d end the night wherever my favorite Atlanta Dj, DJ Abe Hyde, is playing that night.

We can rest and relax later on during the trip with Massages.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
This could be a long list but I have to shout out: God for holding me up and guiding me through working in this industry. My parents – Victoria and Desmond Lucan.
Beth Galvin – Former boss.
My best friends – Antone, Josh and Malcolm.
And every friend that let me crash at their place while I was transitioning to living in NY
