We had the good fortune of connecting with China Lewis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi China, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted to be my own boss, I couldn’t take people bossing me around and telling me what to do anymore, it felt like slavery. Now I feel free.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I invented the Bahemy Snack Utility pot. I was tired of giving my grandson bowls of food or snacks in his hands to always have it end up on the floor. I was sooo tired of cleaning up after him or wasting food. So I started putting things together and came up with the snack/utility pot that can be attached to your toddler or baby and they can eat right from it, great for on the go! Then after I would have to patent it and then I would have to have it professionally made, The whole process is very pricy but worth it! From being poor and homeless on the streets of New York to being an inventor, so surreal! If you ever have a dream don’t be afraid to take steps, first of all, someone else may jump on it before you do and our life on this earth is very limited, do it now, not when you’re 80 years old. You don’t know what could happen unless you take steps.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I don’t know Georgia much but I would check out a few lounges and restaurants in the city. I heard that stone mountain, the aquarium and the world of Coca Cola is a must see.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to dedicate my shout out to my friend Tracy and my sister Melanie
