We had the good fortune of connecting with Chelsea Nye & Melissa Shanahan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chelsea Nye & Melissa Shanahan, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Chelsea had been consulting and doing freelance work for the company for a few years and she just kept saying ‘I wish I could just buy this company.’ A hypothetical conversation with the founder about selling the company quickly steamrolled into a serious conversation. Fast forward 6 months and we purchased the company. I think we both wanted to diversify our opportunities and knew this brand had the foundation to be great. The brand has a huge community of die hard fans that we will continue to grow and deliver some rad products to!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Till I Die is an outdoor lifestyle brand that originated in Killington, Vermont, in 2010. What sets Till I Die apart is its unique blend of après-inspired fashion and high-performance apparel, catering to sports enthusiasts and those embracing the outdoor lifestyle. The brand’s motto, “do what you love, do it forever,” embodies its ethos of encouraging individuals to pursue their passions relentlessly. Melissa and Chelsea acquired the company at the end of 2023 with a mission to renew the company with a grassroots effort and reengineering all of the systems. Taking everything back to the foundations will ensure a solid platform for the brand to grow. This hasn’t been easy and it is extremely detailed and time consuming but totally worth it. The company is already seeing the benefits of having everything operational and back in-house; customers are getting orders in a timely manner, greater insights in quality control, consistency in creative and marketing, and more engagement from our community.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If we have friends visiting we would definitely take them up to Killington, VT for some fun on the slopes! The day would start off early, head to the mountain and ski and ride. Once the crowd start flooding in then we would head to the peak for refreshment and snacks. After we wrap up on the hill – maybe a quick dance session in the parking lot and then scoot back to the house to freshen up for a night full of Aprés adventures!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We want to give a shoutout to all of the fans of the brand, if it wasn’t for your continued support and passion for the outdoors – none of this would be possible. Another huge thank you to our Ambassadors who collaborate with us to create some compelling and community based content! We are continuously inspired by our community!
