We had the good fortune of connecting with Chelisa “CheChe” Boyce and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chelisa “CheChe”, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The process itself started back in Spring 11’ when a couple of college kids attending the University of Memphis collaborated on ideas on how to make meals and feed people after the main dining hall closed. Those thoughts would continue to grow creating JusChe Foods. The name was created utilizing the Late Justin Freeman first three initials and the first three of my name Chelisa or “CheChe” . When it all comes down to it we were two kids with big dreams! Although Justin passed 21’ due to Covid he leaves behind two beautiful daughters. The dream doesn’t keep living on for me but also it serves as his legacy in which he wanted to leave behind. JusChe Foods isn’t just good food, instead with each meal or sample Chef CheChe guarantees to take your tastebuds on a culinary journey.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The advantage I would say that sets JusChe Foods to next level is Chef Chelisa’s work grind and ethic. Chef Chelisa “CheChe” Boyce was born in St. Louis MO and raised just outside the city in small town Festus,MO. Chef has been cooking professionally since the completion of Culinary School at L’ecole Culinaire, Clayton, Mo in 2014. With a melting pot of family influences it is there she developed her own style giving the people her Down South mixed with both Midwest/East Coast Flare. The Completion of Culinary School added another Arsenal of tools to her culinary belt in fine dining. From there she went on to perfect her craft working in Casinos in the greater St. Louis area before going on to work for river boat cruise line. It was there that she rose from the ranks in just two short years From line cook to executive chef. The youngest Executive Chef in the fleet. Through what she calls “Food Pop Ups“ she began pulling from for various forms of training to introduce the masses to JusChe Foods, winning them over taste by taste! “I make each culinary dish with love and care, you know as if I’m making it for the most important person I love and Cherish is about to eat the dish!”

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Special shoutout first and foremost Father God for helping keep the dream alive, “BiggBaby”, all the day one supports and new supporters as I continue to grow and expand JusChe Foods brand.
