We had the good fortune of connecting with Chef Tish Rodgers and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chef Tish, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
I have been blessed to find My true calling In Life, the legacy I want to leave behind is one of excellence. My dream is to be remembered by my dedication to the craft, along with the passion I contribute to my work and my counterparts.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Thank you so much it’s an Honor that you all Love my work!!!
I believe there is no work of art more intriguing then a beautifully plated, well thought out dish.
My career path had been pretty great. I’m a veteran and a career changer. I started at the Ritz Carlton, straight out of culinary school and I went on a path to discover my niche in this industry. My first venture was creating Comfortable Gourmet, my private chef and consulting company. I still operate that today. I soon found my niche at JCT Kitchen and Bar as a line cook. I found Farm to Table cooking. I fell in love, it’s kinda history from there.
I was blessed to be asked to compete on Food Network and came Home to Atlanta to go into kitchen management as well as start a Farm to school nutrition program at Midtown International School.
My passion lies in international cuisine, specifically Italian. I love working within the lines of fusion.
My greatest accomplishment so far is teaching Culinary arts for the WWCA (west side works culinary academy). The academy is operated by Levy restaurants at Mercedes Benz stadium on behalf of the Arthur Blank family Foundation and the WestSide Works collaborative. I get to give back to the community through life changing opportunities for folks that look like me. Folks that want to cook and don’t know how to get into the industry. Overall I guess I really want the world to know who Chef Tish is, and what she and Comfortable Gourmet bring to the Atlanta Community.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Well I would alway say the belt line is my fav spot! I love the diversity of cuisine features there as well As the scenery. The beltline represents and showcases Atlantas parks, restaurants and always sunny and beautiful weather . You can workout, dine, and splurge all on the belt line! With other awesome spots like Krog street and ponce city market to venture to as well.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my story to all the chefs I’ve worked with, collaborated with, and learned from. They all assisted in making me the chef and instructor I am today.
