We had the good fortune of connecting with Chassy Battle and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chassy, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I’m cautious of them but I don’t run from risks. The biggest role I’ve had was being a soldier in the Army. The biggest risk with wearing that uniform is the possibility of loosing my life. I medically retired after 16yrs and I don’t regret it at all because being a soldier was a major part of my life and it taught me so much about myself, my peers and this country. The military was very beneficial to my life.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

Getting pregnant while in my last years of highschool was the most unexpected and challenging thing ever. I truly thought having a future was over, well that’s what they tell us anyway, right? After graduating highschool, I tried working at Sonic Drive In, then tried the police department but it just wasn’t enough. So I decided to join the military. It wasn’t an easy decision but I had too. Being in the military has allowed me to travel and experience so much and was able to meet different people. During my tour in Afghanistan, we went through the harshest conditions with skin. After researching skincare, I decided I would make it my business to help those in need. Once I retired from the military, I went to Esthetician school and created Flawless Canvas Beauty and Body Bar. My main goal is to ensure every client I touch leave happy with their results and that all of their selfcare needs are met.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

First we would chill and relax after her traveling. 2nd day I would give her a spa day at my Spa then have dinner at Steak Market
3rd day we would have breakfast, then check out the Initmate skin bar for a little while then party at Cirque
4th day breakfast a day at the Aquarium, lunch at Hattie Marie BBG then chill and parting at Boogalou
5th day Breakfast then she head back home

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The military & my son Jalen… It wasn’t much going on in my hometown and becoming a mother at such a young age limited how much I could do. So after working with the police department I decided to Join the Army. My son was my motivation to never Give up and to keep going no matter how bad things got.
