We had the good fortune of connecting with Chaslyn BreAnna and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chaslyn, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Six years ago, my former employer started to scale back on our commission checks and I couldn’t catch a break with my taxes. My income declined drastically. I was a few weeks pregnant so I knew I had to do something for myself and my future child. A couple of weeks later, my great grandmother was on her death bed and my job didn’t want to allow me bereavement time (a partial day to say my goodbyes while she slowly transitioned). All of these were driving forces to my own freedom aka entrepreneurship. I was talked out of entrepreneurship by my grandparents long enough. I was ready to take that leap of faith.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I make all of my clients feel like family while maintaining business protocol. I’m from MS, so I make sure to show hospitality to all of my past, present, and future clients. I am proud to say that my customer service and communication skills are top tier. 6 years ago, I got my LLC then I drove to Atlanta two weeks later to take a lash course. Throughout the years, I had my daughter then relocated. Following the move, Covid happened. Now we are experiencing inflation. Business has fluctuated and it has not been easy. As a business owner, you have to learn how to pivot. When I moved, I had to regain clientele by marketing on social media platforms and passing out my flyers around the city. When Covid happened, I went virtual. As a business owner, you have to be able embrace the challenges head on and pivot.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When my best friend comes to town, we always go to Harold’s on Edgewood. They have the best chicken, drinks, music and hookah. I also love Restaurant 10. They have the best salmon blt (you don’t even have to have the bacon). I love Truist Park too. It’s so much to do out there including drinking, watching the Braves, and photo opps. Of course we’d have to hit up one of the Cru locations as well. Another go to place was Views honestly. I hope they open back up soon! I also love hanging out at Ponce City Market. I’m not really a club goer. I’m more of a food and drink girlie.

Other good food spots: The Real Milk & Honey, Gutbuster’s, Love at First Bite, Southern Queenz, King Southern Delight, Big Dave’s, JJ’s & Bar Vegan to name a few.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My daughter, Kehlani, is my driving force. When I became pregnant, I knew I needed another source of income, along with flexibility to avoid missing pivotal moments in her development. My work schedule consisted of 12 hour days 5 days a week in an office not including travel time. My business has allowed me to work behind the scenes on developing course content, ordering supplies, scheduling photo shoots, and so much more all while still being able to spend time with my daughter.
