We had the good fortune of connecting with Charaun Cash and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Charaun, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
The difference between successful and unsuccessful people is personal agency, and the propensity to take risks. From a very early age, I have been very intentional when it comes to making decisions about my life and my career. I frequently find myself at a crossroads or on the brink of a very important decision that could make or break the next chapter of my life. Each time, I always get butterflies in my stomach, but I always ultimately end up making the right decision in the end. The great thing about betting on yourself is that no matter how large the leap, you’ll always land on your feet. As a woman of faith, I believe it is not good to worry or stress about tomorrow because ultimately, God’s plan will prevail. 2020 was a year of uncertainty for a lot of people. Specifically for my business, Bomb Brands, it was a year where we initially planned to grow. Once the pandemic hit, we were faced with a decision to either proceed with our growth plan or to wait it out for things to get better. After much prayer and deliberation, we decided to proceed. In September, Bomb Brands opened our first photography suite in the metro Atlanta area. Now, we can offer a private and socially distant experience for our clients. Measuring risk can be scary, but an important skill that I’ve learned during my journey as an entrepreneur is to prepare for new and exciting changes, so you won’t be surprised when they come. The greater the risk, the greater the reward.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Bomb Brands is an Atlanta based creative agency that partners with entrepreneurs and small business owners to build a classic and cohesive brand identity. We exist to educate and empower entrepreneurs to develop and stay true to their brand standards. After spending years freelancing and designing for nonprofits and small business owners, I noticed that small business owners struggled to compete in the marketplace due to a lack of resources, and limited time to focus on their brand aesthetic and marking materials. My husband and I decided to launch Bomb Brands in December 2018, to provide a one-stop-shop for entrepreneurs to develop their brand identity and elevate their business marketing. In September 2020, we opened up the Bomb Brands Photography Studio in Northeast Atlanta, where we offer a private and exclusive experience complete with a studio set up, and three interchangeable lifestyle sets. At Bomb Brands, we specialize in WordPress Web Design, Brand Photography, Graphic Design, and Custom Prints. With us, business owners can achieve their vision all under one roof. As a company, we pride ourselves on integrity, quality, and commitment to the community. Over the years, I have learned that entrepreneurship is a journey that should be enjoyed. At Bomb Brands, we handle the design and take the burden off of our clients so they can do what they love. All in all, entrepreneurship has been challenging but rewarding. The most important lesson I’ve learned is that in order to stay successful, we must set boundaries for ourselves when it comes to our time and our craft. In addition, it is very important to make time for your mental and physical health because it is impossible to pour from an empty cup. Starting and maintaining a business is not for the faint at heart, but in the end, I wouldn’t change it for the world.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m a foodie, so mostly everywhere I go involves food! The first place I would take them is Fletcher’s Place on Candler Road for some Hot Lemon Pepper Wings (Wet) with blue cheese and a side of fries. At some point, we would venture to Superica at Krog Street Market, and visit Gilly Brew Bar out in Stone Mountain. The next day we would enjoy a long day of shopping at and around Perimeter Mall, and head to Cafe Intermezzo. We would also have to find time to squeeze in a visit to Ponce City Market, BQE, and Kens on Bankhead (now known as Donald Lee Hollowell Pkwy). These are a few places I love in the city.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my Shoutout Atlanta story to my husband, Destorian Cash. He challenges me, and pushes me forward to bet on myself, and more specifically was the push I needed to start Bomb Brands. With the encouragement from my husband, along with my family and friends, I chose to take the leap, and I couldn’t be where I am without his support.
