We had the good fortune of connecting with Chantylle Nathan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chantylle, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
To be financially independent, be pandemic proof, live my true life without being someone else’s slave, to move with the wave of the culture. My time is utilized/monetized better working through my own business. And I work the best with my husband.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The most important thing about being successful in Atlanta is your network. The people you meet or surround yourself with become your market. Where you hang out, party, eat, recreation etc is important. I started a music career being a ghostwriter and wedding singer which lasted for years with sessions here and gigs there, through ppl I randomly met in Buckhead. Independently no manager, just agent referrals. A few years before the pandemic I had got into bartending, which was comfortable for me having an associates degree in foodservice and hospitality. When the pandemic hit all the music opportunities disappeared. At this time we started our catering business with most of our clientele stemming from TGS. Private events etc. Once COVID died down we were already in full throttle. My favorite so far was bartending LeBron James’ birthday party. One gig always leads to more.Be around the clientele you want. My husband and I curate personalized drink menus, work with big Sponsors, and provide an energy and proper personnel for really dope events with politicians, influencers, a-listers, and creatives. We provide a very authentic, professional, and timely experience for our clientele.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Mon- East Atlanta village, for live music, maybe a tattoo or piercing and end with magic city Monday

Tuesday- Bikes on the Beltline and Ponce City Market with over 30 restaurants to choose from.

Wednesday- Ax throwing then catch an NBA, NFL, or Concert at State Farm or Mercedes Benz Stadium, then end the night on Peters St.

Thursday- Toast on Lenox , Lenox Mall then Jeju Spa, Sea Salt for dinner. Shout out to chef Weezy. Then Celavi for live music, shoutout to Brandon Butler

Friday- Breakfast @ Barney’s and a Braves Game and Shenanigans in the Battery

Saturday- Get some rest… Whatever my good friends over at Milk and Cookies have curated or Edgewood and maybe end the night with Rose Bar in Buckhead.

Sunday – we’re climbing Stone Mountain followed by a session of yoga, rest up then Bonfire

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to recognize my husband who is the mastermind behind our bar/beverage catering business and my bestfriend musically. I’d also like to recognize The Gathering Spot for creating an amazing community that supports and advocates for our marriage, ventures, opportunities and businesses. I will forever be indebted to Ryan and TK for such a pivotal concept such as TGS for Atlanta. It’s like a black excellence network and market all in one.
