We had the good fortune of connecting with Chanicia Ansah and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chanicia, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
Since I’m just starting out my end goal might look diffrent right now my goal is to become a full time photographer and to open my own production company and studio chain. I want to established a place not just for me to but where other creatives can feel comfortable at too.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m an Atlanta-based photographer who mostly shoots portraits and lifestyles. Associate degree in Design & Media from Atlanta Technical college, I have been working as a freelance photographer in Atlanta for the past couple of years. A principal theme in my work is I paints with light and makes dynamic choices when editing to make my pictures stand out from the rest. I wouldn’t say photography is hard but u have to take time to learn  a craft. About 4 years ago I decided wanted to learn photography most people are about quick results but I felt the best option for me was school. I learned a lot there and my photography actually increased and I fell in love with studio lighting. My photography from 4 year ago is so different then it is now.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Ok I’m gonna tell u some of my favorite places in Atlanta .My top restaurant would be cirque Atlanta because I love good food and music . I love going to place to have fun like arcades and bowling so place bowlero , The Roof at Ponce City Market, Round1. I also like to visit nature park my top 3 are Reynolds Nature Preserve,
Hidden Acres Nature Preserve And Constitution Lakes.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The main person I would like to shout out is my sister Phoenicia Ansah we are each other support we have lost both of our parents young She is an amazing person in my life. She is older than me and she is always there for me, suggesting and supporting me. She is one of the best advisors in my life. She help me creatively also by making or designing things for my photography.
