We had the good fortune of connecting with Chanelle Harris and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chanelle, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
My favorite quote is “Everything happens for a reason” I am a firm believer that whatever happens on our life journey is supposed to happen and that no matter how difficult or easy the process is, there is always a reason for an experience. I may not know why at that moment but eventually, I am able to make a connection to why things happened the way they did. Remembering this quote motivates me to continue creating and learning how to manage my business without the fear of taking risks or failing.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I own NELLO Vintage, an online curated vintage store. NELLO is a vintage store that promotes sustainability, style over fashion, and defying labels to remove barriers to self-expression. Each piece is hand-picked and styled by me to present to customers that even secondhand clothing is worth looking to remove negative stigmas around used items. To get to where I am today I have made being consistent and trusting myself with creative instincts to make the best choices for my brand. There have definitely been challenges along the way, mostly from learning how to start a business and really taking the time to research what are the best ways I can improve my brand. I’ve learned to be patient, persistent, and take breaks. I want the world to know NELLO is a direct connection between myself and my passion for self-expression and influencing others to do the same.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m a foodie… so I would definitely take my friend to some of my favorite restaurants. Right now some of my favorite places are Grass VBQ joint, Sushi Burri, Match Cafe Maiko, Milk & Honey, Big Softie, Andys Frozen Custard, Queen Tea, Rina, A Haute Cookie.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my mother. She has supported me throughout my business journey from the beginning and has always encouraged me to do what I love and to never settle. I grateful for her continued support and unconditional love.
