We had the good fortune of connecting with CHANEL MACK and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi CHANEL, how do you think about risk?
A saying that I live by is “Always Bet on MACK” . Had I not taken a risk and believed in my ability, I wouldn’t be here today. I’d rather take risks and fail, then never take risks and regret.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I refer to myself as a “Story Teller.” Since a child, I’ve always been enthralled with the idea of bringing stories to life.

What sets me apart from other actors is my ability to dig deeper into a plotline, to better convey a story. I look for all of the small details that are often times overlooked… those small details are what makes the characters truly unique.

Although my career is just starting, I am most proud of and exited for my upcoming series on AllBLK “Wicked City.” This is the biggest role of my career thus far, and It was very exciting to be given the opportunity to bring “Sherise” to life.

I got to where I am professionally by will and faith. I had the will to do it, and I prayed to God to guide the way, I was determined to be a performer, by any means necessary. My motto was “Get Casted or die trying.” so it’s clear to say that this path was not easy, however, it is very rewarding. With every challenge that I faced , like my lungs collapsing a few weeks before my Drama school graduation, I always reminded myself that God wouldn’t have put this goal on my heart if I wasn’t meant to succeed. So I just prayed for guidance, and the rest is history.

The one lesson, or take away, from my acting journey would be, “Never give up!” As cliché as that sounds, It was that mantra that helped me get out of that hospital and learn how to walk again. Me pushing myself got me back infront of the camera and back on stage… I thank God for my resilience.

The one thing I want the world to know about me is that I don’t stop… and I never will.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I absolutely love Atlanta… don’t tell my NYC friends I said that, lol!

First, if any of my friends were coming to visit I would absolutely recommend the Thompson Hotel in Buckhead. Its located in the heart of Buckhead and is my absolute favorite hotel.

As far as food is concerned, the options are endless. My Bestie and I would definitely visit STK Market, or Little Alley Steak. Afterwards, we would go to a classy cigar bar like “Fellaship” or “Red Phone Booth” far drinks and conversation.

Finally, we can end the night at my favorite “afties” (what New Yorkers call After Hour Spots) Whiskey Mistress. I’ve met some of my favorite celebrities there.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are a lot of individuals whom are responsible for the career I have today, however, this group of individuals really pushed me to peruse my dreams. I used to work for an entertainment law firm GKSD (they have since disbanded) and one of the partners, Andre Des Rochers, told me “you know you don’t want to go to law school, find an acting school… you’re wasting your talent.”

After that I did my research and found Stella Adler Studio of Acting. Andre wrote my recommendation, and the other partners came together and gave me a raise (so i could afford the tuition) and even allowed me to leave work early everyday to attend class.

I owe those guys everything…
