We had the good fortune of connecting with Chandra Gore and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chandra, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success and the success of my brand is consistency and authenticity. I am always myself. I walk and speak my truth no matter what the situation.

What should our readers know about your business?
What sets me apart from others is my authenticity. I am always myself no matter what is going on. This has allowed me to constantly walk in my truth. My path in business was not an easy one. I have failed more times than I have succeeded. I learned from each failure because without the failure I would not have learned to be successful. The lessons I learned was to be clear about my intentions and goals. To be able to outline what I want to do and stick to the task list laid out. I would want the world to know that my story was one filled with some heartache, ups and downs and most of all triumph.

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
On a trip to my new hometown Stafford, VA – I would show my friend to the beautiful Alum Spring Park in Fredericksburg that I go to to clear my mind. During that week we would go to Koi Tea for Boba and Ice Cream rolls, I Love Teriyaki for Chicken Teriyaki and the most amazing poppy seed salad dressing. On our way to DC to visit the National Museum of African American History and Culture – we will stop in Dumfries for Skrimp Shak for a platter with Sweet Tea and on the way back we will visit Hen Quarter in Alexandria for brunch. We will also visit the many amazing murals that are on display in DC with another stop at Oohs and Ahhs as well as Downtown Fredericksburg with a pitstop at Orleans Bistro for some Shrimp and Grits. We will also head to National Harbor and look out on the river and enjoy the amazing views.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate this shoutout to the many women who continue to motivate and encourage me to keep going. To LeShelle Smith of Minority Report Featuring Black Owned Business, Kalyn Young of Naturally Phased, La Tetra O. of Aliwazas, Patrice Deveaux of But is She Funny, Monica of Conscious Kingdom and Camille of Montage PR – you ladies are amazing in your own right.
