We had the good fortune of connecting with Chancellor Jackson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chancellor, what is the most important factor behind your success?
1. Believing in yourself! The first step before anybody else can believe is that you have to believe. Trust God, and trust the process.

2. Whatever you choose to do, give your all to it and stay strong. It’s going to be a marathon; success doesn’t happen over night.

3. Don’t quit. That is the only distinguishing factor behind me and whoever is going through it, about to go through it, or already went through it, is that you are not going to quit. Take the stand that you’re willing to die behind what you are getting after.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m an Amazon best selling author. My best seller ’14 Days in Beijing’ is about my experience getting locked up abroad in China. This book has ranked #1 in multiple genres over 15x. I knew i wanted to do something with the story, but didn’t know how originally. One of my best friends that was a published author before we graduated high school, planted the seed to write about it. I didn’t know where to start, so he gave me a brief five layer outline. I took that online and ran with it, Four months later, the story was written, and I spent the following six months getting it ready to be published. The most work is getting the story ready for publishing. Once you get to that point, publsihing is easy. Amazon changed the game for independent writers. Everybody has a story to tell, and it is a simple formula to share it. That’s why I created Korleh Publications LLC. I want to bring back the kore of writing, and that is the ability to express yourself through your word and experiences.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First thing first, we can grab some food. One of my favorite soul food restaurants, The Beautiful. Afterwards, its time to get fucked up. We gone hit one of my favorite bars, Docs, and have a few drinks. Once we got a nice buzz, we’re going to hit the Silver Comet Trail to smoke in nature. Once the fade is in full throttle, we’ll go on a tour around my city, and downtown. After all that, we can go home to freshen up for the night. There are countless lounges/clubs to hit if thats your forte. If not, there are plenty of fun/chill things to do as well. One of my favorites is going to the drive in movie off of Moreland.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Nipsey Hussle! This man has had a huge influence on me, and millions of others through his music and other business ventures. RIP to the goat; the marathon continues.
