We had the good fortune of connecting with cesar galvez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi cesar, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I’ve always been a day dreamer. I was in my head more times than not and I felt like I had all these great things I wanted to accomplish. The restaurant industry and in particular cooking always drew my attention, but the only money in the industry is in management so I went that route. Well, after a few years I felt burnt out and sometime in my mid 20’s, I decided then that I was going to bet on myself and bring one of these ideas to life. And here we are now.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I would like people to associate Combatant Meals with the overall positive aspect of their nutrition. Their relationship with food, and a brand that stands behind their nutritional choices. It seems like the food thats easily accessible is just a slow poison we ingest, well in the contrary, mindful eating can reverse this damage to your body and operating systems. To allow a more happy and more fulfilled you.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m a sucker for leaving the city, so I would probably start with a rustic cooking experience. Over open flames, maybe some camping in the N. GA mountains. Maybe we fish our own catch that day, or go kayaking.
Some must visit spots in the city though:
King and Duke
Spring
Staplehouse
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Tony Bourdain as inspo. His mind and mine run perpendicular. So I knew after fan boying for a few weeks with his shows, that I was going to dedicate my career to the industry,
