We had the good fortune of connecting with Celene Daniels and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Celene, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I believe it’s important to have a mission statement. To have a sense of direction and purpose when conducting business.
My mission statement has always been; Quality over quantity.
Managing how to market yourself to understand your own worth to become more expandable to increase your house hold income.
Many actors are happy to receive a role, very rarely I do think actors think about the quality of work they operate at.
For me it’s all about setting my standards so that I become a sound business partner. It can be difficult, push through anyway.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a young actor and comedic located in the (DMV) DC, Maryland, Virginia area. I am Celene Daniels no one else I’m filled with courage, passion, and drive. What sets me apart from most is that I can think for myself and grow an organic point of view. What I’m most excited about is, that I’m learning the politics of the entertainment industry meaning that I am becoming more equipped to play the game.
I enrolled in a New York City conservatory program during the peek/start of the pandemic taking no academic breaks, within that same year of completing the program I came out the other side with knowledge on producing your own content and creating opportunities for myself instead of waiting on them. I am now looking forward to pursing my BFA and potentially my MFA.
Being a student during a pandemic is no easy feet. One has to have the drive to want to learn or they’ll become bored really fast. The copious workloads addition to online assignments and safety protocols. The number one lesson I’ve learned along the way is to breathe, take a moment to nurture myself.
I am Celene Daniels a unique futuristic artist who refuse to take no as an answer I love what I do and I’m looking to expand. Artist such as Eartha Kitt paved away so that young artist like myself can find a way.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m such a home body, I’d invite my friends over and cook for them as we talk about what compels and have insightful conversations. I’d sometimes go out to eat too, maybe dress up for the night and go to an event where there’s open mic. See a concert, honestly I just go with the flow.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shout out to my brother, Ronell Lewis! A gifted young man when I see him focus on his craft it encourages me to do the same. Shout out to my mentor Greg Bargeman my close cousin who is a principle at DC public schools. He showed me the value in higher education. Lastly shout out to divine timing because everything in my life happens for a reason. Thank you for the opportunity to express myself.
