We had the good fortune of connecting with Cedrick DuBois and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cedrick, what’s the most difficult decision you’ve ever had to make?
the most difficult decision I make daily is to stay the course. To remain focus and dedicated and authentic to my brand don’t ever waiver due to finances and trend but to put out quality and things I believe in and would be proud to see others wear.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am my Brand and no one can be me so its simple with out me the brand the passion is no longer. I’m excited for all the people I’ve encountered and creatively and fashionably made a difference in their lives as well the accomplishments and publications that I’ve been privileged to be in and show my designs and tell my story. Persistence is the key never staying down and moving towards bigger aspirations keeping your prayer life intertwine in decisions and taking risk that might not always pan out but the lesson is worth it. Brand DLC is here to innovate and create we design with love and will be a household name its never been about fame its about beauty and art.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well Atlanta is a thrill, but if you my friend we are eating and Food in Atlanta is amazing. breakfast spots like Atlanta Breakfast Club, Folk art (Inman Park), Thumbs ups any location Lunch in the highlands or Midtown and dinner at Poor Calvin’s, Cuts or JCT kitchen just to name a few depending on the exhibits High Museum, outdoor pleasure and walk Roswell Mills or Cascade Reservation plenty of bars to hop but PDH by Fox theater customer service and drinks is a blast. Old lady gang Camp creek lamb chops and Gocha breakfast bar for shrimp and grits, its not a trip with out a late night at an open mic joint and waffle house. I mean the Aquarium the historic district of Auburn Ave and the always packed Edgewood district would definitely be on the itinerary and would definitely have a spa day at JeJu slide pass food trucks and do shopping at some of my favorite boutiques and end it with Sunday service At Zion Hill Baptist Church in Southwest Atlanta. I could go on about sites and food and entertainment here in Atlanta but you just gotta be here for the experience

Who else deserves a little credit and recognition in your story?
My Journey would not be what it is with out my mother the support and creative freedom she gave my entire life cultivated and sculpted the mind and life I live. She has allowed me to dibble and dabble in all parts of the arts dance, music, painting and design just to name a few help in getting me into the world renown Savanah College of Art and Design and is cheerleader promoter and client. There are a lot of people that deserve recognition for lifting me motivating me and coming on this journey with me and I will simply say without Family and friends this journey would’ve not been the same.
