Meet Catherine Horgan

We had the good fortune of connecting with Catherine Horgan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Catherine, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
I believe taking risks is essential — in business, in life and in how we show up.
Style is one of the safest and most powerful places to experiment with boldness. It allows you to try on a new energy, new identity and new intention without lasting consequences. What you wear reflects how you feel, and sometimes, something unexpected is exactly what helps you break through a limiting belief or outdated version of yourself.
I encourage my clients to take risks with their wardrobe. The worst that happens? You don’t wear the outfit again. The best? You get a glimpse of who you’re becoming and begin to step into that power.
The same principle applies in business. Every meaningful leap — launching something new, raising your rates, stepping into more visibility — comes with uncertainty. However, playing it safe rarely builds momentum. Risk creates clarity. It sharpens your voice, expands your reach and when aligned with your future self, it doesn’t just move your brand forward, it moves you forward.
Whether it’s a bold blazer, a new offer or a step outside your comfort zone, what you choose helps you walk more confidently into the life and business you’re creating.
Risk isn’t recklessness. It’s alignment with possibility.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I help women leaders own the room and show up with confidence through strategic style. My work bridges the gap between how they see themselves and how the world sees them, all through intentional wardrobe choices.
I create visual alignment between identity, presence and purpose. When your style reflects who you truly are, everything shifts. You speak with more clarity. You lead with more impact. You are received in the way you intend.
What sets me apart is that I am not here to follow trends. I have a refined process that helps clients feel seen, respected and fully in control of how they present themselves. I expand what they believe is possible for their image and influence. And I do it in a way only I can.
Getting here has not been easy or linear. Like most entrepreneurs, I have navigated reinvention, self-doubt and the hard work of building something meaningful. But when your work is anchored in purpose, you keep showing up. You evolve. You get sharper. And you serve with more intention every time.
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that authority is not handed out. It is claimed. You do not have to wait to be chosen. You get to define your leadership, your visibility and your impact. That is the kind of transformation I help my clients step into.
If there is one thing I want people to know about me and my work, it is this: Confidence is not something you find. It is something you uncover. And when it finally aligns with how you show up, the world cannot help but notice.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Charlotte’s charm isn’t just in the places, it’s in the people who bring them to life. It’s a city that lets you slow down and step up at the same time. That’s what makes it unforgettable.
Day 1:
We’d kick off the week with dinner at Coquette, a chic French brasserie in Uptown where the ambiance is as polished as the cocktails. Think steak frites and a French 75. Afterward, we’d head to Merchant & Trade, a rooftop bar with sweeping views. The perfect way to take in the city and toast to what’s ahead.
Day 2:
We’d explore The Mint Museum and Harvey B. Gantt Center for a dose of art, identity and design. Lunch at Angeline’s for Italian with a southern twist. Then, walk through Romare Bearden Park before hitting Not Just Coffee for an afternoon pick-me-up.
Day 3:
A creative day in NoDa, Charlotte’s arts district. We’d wander through galleries, pop into Salud Cerveceria for local beer, then have dinner in Davidson at Haberdish (fried chicken and craft cocktails done right). If there’s live music at The Evening Muse, we’re going back to NoDa.
Day 4:
A slow morning with breakfast at Biscuit Belly followed by a walk around the booty loop. Spa time at Tocarre Day Spa for clean skincare and ultra pampering. Dinner at The Goodyear House … cozy and tucked away.
Day 5:
South End is where Charlotte’s edge and energy live. We’d do brunch at Chapter 6, check out the shops along the rail trail, then grab coffee at Bitty & Beau’s. If it’s Friday, it will be buzzing and breweries like Sycamore will be packed.
Day 6:
We’d spend some time in Phillips Place for a mix of designer shopping and local boutiques. I’d book us a style session (because, of course). Dinner at Supperland, quite the experience.
Day 7:
We’d picnic in Freedom Park with charcuterie from Babe & Butcher, followed by a gallery stop or a cozy bookstore like Park Road Books. Then we’d walk through Wing Haven Gardens. Quiet, beautiful and the perfect Charlotte goodbye.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Absolutely. My deepest shoutout goes to my family. Their unwavering support, love and belief in me has been the foundation of everything I’ve built. They’ve been my sounding board, my cheerleaders and my safe place through every chapter of growth and every leap of faith.
There’s something powerful about knowing you have people in your corner who don’t need to understand every detail of what you’re doing. They simply believe in you. That kind of support is everything. I carry it with me in every room I walk into and every client I serve.
