We had the good fortune of connecting with Carrie Lane and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Carrie, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My husband and his business partner opened their third Escape room and had asked me to run it. Due to the strains of Covid they needed to let it go just a short 7 months later. My mother has been helping me run the location and together we decided that we really enjoyed creating the puzzles and stories. This is when the great idea to go mobile hit. Georgia is famous for skinny roads and HOA’s, so we didn’t think that a trailer would be a fantastic way to go. After much consideration we decided to make our adventures roomless, meaning that they could be played anywhere. Our adventures accommodate anywhere from 1-100 people at the same time. We have been played at camps, businesses, in homes, at parks, in restaurants, and at events and country clubs. This is how thinking outside the box is going for Fuzzle Phase.
What should our readers know about your business?
Fuzzle Phase has taken a brick and mortar escape room experience from a single location to any location you want to have your adventure. We have rooms that range in time from 20 minutes to one hour long rooms. We cater to elementary aged children up to senior citizens. Because the adventure Guide is part of the game you get a more hands on experience. Our hope is to continue to challenge the minds of those with the determination to succeed and have fun.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
What a fun question…. We would do a day of kayaking the “Hooch” and maybe another day to kayak at Mistletoe or another State park. We would hike Amicolola Falls, and visit Rick City and Ruby Falls.
Some of the places we would eat would include Joe’s New York Pizzeria in Alpharetta, Huey McGues in Loganville, Mercantile Social in Alpharetta, the Duluth Diner, in Duluth and the Diner in Loganville. We would book an Escape adventure with Fuzzle Phase and an escape room at Impossible Escape in Loganville. We would spend a day at one of the amazing events hosted in Georgia depending on the time of year. We would visit Jekyll Island and Cumberland Island and visit pine mountain animal Safari.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Our family and the supportive community that have stuck with us, encouraged us, and continue to be a part of our growing company. We especially give thanks to all those that seek adventures that help build teamwork, challenge their minds and make sense out of puzzles. Without them we would not have a need.
