We had the good fortune of connecting with Caroline Mott and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Caroline, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I started The Peachy Lettering Co in 2018. I had recently left my full-time job to be a stay-at-home mom and start the foster care licensing process. A few friends reached out and asked me to address their wedding invitations and design some signs for their weddings. I had so much fun creating the designs, I thought hey – there might be something here! I started teaching myself how to use Photoshop to do graphic design. I wanted something that I could do on the side and bring in a little extra money for my family, and this seemed like the perfect fit. I started an Etsy shop and The Peachy Lettering Co was born!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I live in Gainesville – about an hour north of Atlanta. Gainesville has a really cool town square with great restaurants and shops, and even more being built. One of my favorite restaurants is just off the square – Inked Pig BBQ. Their Triple Threat sandwich and fried okra are a must-try. There are a lot of events always happening – live music on Friday nights in the summer downtown, Food Truck days at the Lake Lanier Olympic venue, Mule Camp festival, and more!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband has been very supportive of my business. There are many nights that I am working on design projects after everyone else is in bed and he has given me plenty of space to do that. He gifted me my laptop, monitor, and adjustable desk to make designing easy for me. My friends and family have been very supportive and encouraged me to continue to improve my talents even when I felt like giving up.
