Meet Candace Moore | Event Planner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Candace Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Candace, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I actually discovered my passion for weddings at a young age. There was something about attending those first few weddings that captivated me. As I attended more weddings I began to notice that the planner is the one who makes the day run smoothly for a couple. On one of the happiest days of your life you should not have to worry about a thing. I never thought wedding planning could become my career, but I could not shake my love for weddings. After studying hospitality at Kennesaw State University I realized it could be a career. Starting my own wedding planning business would allow me the freedom to explore other venues and experience more of the magic that is a wedding so I took a chance.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
It’s never easy starting up a company of any kind, but I have to say I am most proud of the person I have become since starting up my own company. Running my own business has pushed me and I have achieved more than I could’ve ever imagined. Every event is an opportunity to learn something new and become even better at my craft. Just a few things I have learned are being more empathetic and compassionate, seeing things from other peoples points of view, hearing other peoples stories, all of that has broadened my view of the world.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There is so much to do in Georgia! We would definitely spend a whole day maybe even two in Atlanta! We would hit Ponce City Market, have a picnic lunch at Pediment park, stop at the world of coke (forcing my best friend to try the “Beverly”), for dinner we would go to The Vortex then hit The Laughing Skull after for some stand up comedy. One of the days, we would go out to Dahlonega and hit some of the beautiful wineries, Kaya, Yohan Mountain and Montaluce to name a few. And then of course we would spend some time in Canton where I grew up. While in canton we would make a coffee stop a Bizarre Coffee, walk downtown and shop at some local boutiques.
Oh and hopefully the Braves are in town to spend an evening at the battery before catching a Braves game!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are so many people I could shoutout and thank for helping me along the way with making my dreams come true. My husband Zach, as cliche as it sounds, he encourages me to follow my dreams and supports even the craziest of my ideas. He has become the muscles behind the operation while assisting me at events. My sister Crystal also deserves a lot of credit. Her wedding was where I found my love for event planning and she has become my biggest cheerleader. She has helped me make some extremely important decisions along the way, including helping me name my company. I also have to shout out my assistant Rachael. She reached out early on in my business journey letting me know if I needed help, she would love to join my team. Not long after she jumped on board with the same amount of passion that I have and helps me reach even more clients.
