Hi Cami, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
My favorite quote is from Nelson Mandela, “It always seems impossible until it’s done.” This quote has been my mantra as I’ve faced challenges, it helps to drown out any doubts. It’s easy to get overwhelmed by the magnitude of an idea once you’ve made the decision to get started. When you look at the big picture, what it’ll take to make your vision come to life, many people succumb to that overwhelming feeling and they give up before they even start. The best advice I can give to anyone feeling that way is to lean in to it, let the fear motivate you to take the necessary steps. Once you get going you’ll realize that your goal is entirely possible and one day you’ll arrive at a certain point and be able to look back and say… “wow, I did that.”

As the Founder and CEO, I am driven by a passion for fostering genuine connections among single professionals with marriage in mind. With a background in Psychology, Professional Development & Career Coaching, I understand the intricate balance between ambitious careers and the desire for a fulfilling personal life.

I’m also excited to announce the creation of the Cami Barnes Scholarship Foundation, to provide individual scholarships and mentorship to deserving women survivors of trauma. Our mission is to empower and support women survivors of trauma on their journey towards healing and academic success. Through our scholarship fund, we aim to provide educational opportunities that foster resilience, self-empowerment, and personal growth. By investing in their education, we believe in cultivating a brighter future, where these survivors can transform their past experiences into sources of strength and inspiration.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
One of my favorite restaurants for dinner in the city of Atlanta is “Sweet Georgia Juke Joint”. The food and drinks are great, they have live music. Some of my other favorite places are “Atlantic Station” and “Ponce City Market” both have amazing shopping and food options, there are also occasionally live music performances and vendors.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to shout out to my best friend, my husband Will Barnes who supports all of my dreams and ideas. I’d also like to shout out my children and other family members that have supported and encouraged me over the years. I’m thankful for all of my friends and connections who have kept me inspired and plugged in to new opportunities for growth on my journey. And I’m thankful to God for a resourceful mind, and every resource that’s come my way.
