We had the good fortune of connecting with C-Rob Da Champ and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi C-Rob, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
Consistency and persistence is and will always be the key to success. Learn from your mistakes, and work smarter. Remember this is a marathon not a race. I believe in filling in all of the squares, and not skipping any steps. You can’t cheat the grind. I always believe in doing the right thing even when nobody’s watching. You have to develop a good working habit that carries over into everything you do. You have to be steps ahead even if it’s working when everyone else is sleeping. The grind never stops so neither should you.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
C-Rob Da Champ began rapping at the age of 10 and took music seriously shortly after high school give or take 2 to 3 years. With my diverse rapping style; I continue to reinvent myself by pushing pass any limits, not scared to try new things, and exceeding all expectations. Now being an unsigned solo act has really pushed me to do all of the legwork. No sponsors, no investors, no help, moving to my own beat. I know that I can not do all of this alone. This musical journey is not easy so it takes all hands on deck. I learned that the business always comes first. Do not let your emotions conduct your business. You have to keep a clear and open mind while conducting business. One of my goals is to reach is to win multiple Grammys, being very successful, and heavy invested in the music industry. I always set my goals very high even if I don’t reach them all. It’s allows me to always have something to strive and work towards. Family is the motor that drives me, knowing that it’s bigger than myself. Family is my biggest motivation that pushes me to become very successful but God comes first before anything. I have a relentless work ethic and always looking to better myself to reach the next level.

I want my brand to go global, and to make the best music that I can make. I also want to venture off into other investments, but he wants to let the music speak to the people first.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There’s a spot in Atlanta called The Original Big Daddy’s Dish, a nice soul food restaurant joint, then later that night hit a few bars to see what’s the night life is like. The next day we’ll head to Top Golf, indulge in a few drinks, good food, and a few good laughs. We’ll go zip lining, or ride some Go-Karts. One of the days we’ll go to the Dinner Detective where you can eat delicious food and solve mysteries. Then probably go to the Atlanta Zoo or Aquarium.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Brian Mobley and Shawn Maxwell have been more than mentors to me…they’re family. Just like it takes a village to raise a child, it takes that to develop an artist. Shout out to my Day 1 Tee Johnson for being a big part of this journey. Shout out to my engineer/producer Krad for making sure the quality of my sound is on point. Krad is like a brother to me, and someone who’s been down since the beginning. Shout out to my other producer and family member No Switchin’ Zi. Big shout out to Darren Cobb for helping me put together a strategic plan to help build my catalog, and helping my brand to grow.
