Meet Bryson & Dr. Patrice Thompson | Owners (Office manager & Chiropractor) of Touch of Life Family Chiropractic

We had the good fortune of connecting with Bryson & Dr. Patrice Thompson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bryson & Dr. Patrice, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
We always wanted to create a place that exemplified health and wellness in the South Fulton community, where we live. We knew we had greater challenge to create a safe place where the community could be empowered and educated about managing their health and that of their family. Starting our own business wasn’t about doing something for our family but starting something that could effect change in our community. We often saw in our neighboring community other chiropractors changing the health landscape of their communities we wanted the same in our African American community located in southwest Atlanta.
What should our readers know about your business?
What sets us apart from other chiropractic offices is the fact that we practice principled chiropractic care meaning we look at nervous system for root cause of your health concerns and always put our practice members first. Each person who walks through our door gets a thorough examination and x-rays if needed. This allows us to write each person an individualized care plan to help them reach their health goals.
We have had success in practice by learning from some of the best chiropractors in the country and really understanding what it takes to run a world-class facility. This journey has been very challenging and rewarding, as we have worked tireless hours while raising 3 young children that range in age of 9,5 and 2 years old. We’ve been able to overcome challenges by meeting weekly to train, discuss issues, and highlight our own successes. Our village has come through in an amazing way by showing support, helping with transportation to sporting events for the kids, and even coming in to trust us with their health journey as well. We have learned a lot of lessons along the way , but the two that are constant reminders are ” Everyone journey is not going to be the same so don’t try to compare yours with someone else’s and Don’t re-invent the wheel.” We hope by starting our roots here in our community that it will grow and every person we come in contact with learn the real importance of their Nervous system and will seek out Chiropractic care for not only their aches and pain ,but most importantly for Wellness.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Atlanta has some of the best spots to visits its hard to narrow them down, but here are some our favorite places to visit. To start your day off right you have a couple of our favorite breakfast spots in South Fulton that include: Gocha’s Breakfast Bar, Breakfast Boys, and The Real Milk & Honey. For a little exercise we would definitely recommend them to hit up Silver Comet Trail or the Atlanta Belt Line. For lunch and Dinner, we would highly recommend Poor Calvins. Their food and drinks are absolutely amazing.
For entertainment, we would recommend catching a show at the Fox Theatre, shopping at Ponce City Market, and a visit to the National Center for Civil and Human Right, the aquarium, and the College Football Hall of Fame.
Some amazing views can be seen at the Atlanta Botanical Garden, Stone Mountain, & Kennesaw Mountain. If you have kids, old fourth ward park, piedmont park, and morgan falls park are great place to explore, have fun and relax with the family.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Dr. Patrice Thompson- First of all I give my shout out to God for providing me with the gift to serve my community with health and wellness. My husband, best friend and office manager Bryson for believing in me ,supporting me, most of all for the effort and commitment in hours he has put in on this journey of entrepreneurship. Lastly to my family and mentors that for the daily love and encouragement that continues to propel me forward on my path of success.
Bryson – I have to shout out God and a great foundation from growing up in Little Africa, SC as the building block to all that I’ve been able to accomplish in life. The other key piece has been having an amazing partner in Patrice as a wife, business partner, and co-parent. We’ve been able to work together to create a business that has helped thousands of people in our community. Of all the organizations I’ve been part of that have positively impacted my life, Omega Psi Phi has been one of the most important in the journey. These men have helped mold the person I’ve been able to become today.
