We had the good fortune of connecting with Bry Ulrick and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bry, what’s the end goal, career-wise?
I don’t think of a “career” as a linear trajectory, but rather one which is aligned with our life path, and gives us purpose once we have discovered our life mission. I feel as though through all of our life experiences (both good and bad), we prepare ourselves for our future, and learn what we need to in order to progress for our next steps.

Throughout my life, I have felt a calling to the elevation of all beings into freedom and passion, to escape from the turmoil and chaos of the everyday work-life-repeat that most humans have been confined to, regardless of gender, skin tone, lifestyle, location, etc. I have also always loved travel and experiences, particularly with music and its ability to surpass the barriers of language, culture, etc. In safe spaces such as festivals, we can be our most authentic selves- and this is essential to our creativity, innovation, and happiness.

Through Technolini, I have always imagined creating multiple locations throughout the world as healing sanctuaries/centers and event spaces, where people tune into and express their most true and divine selves through movement and music. Additionally, in doing this, I would be able to offer the opportunity to travel to these places to others in my life; family, friends, etc. Travel is so important for opening our minds to alternate possibilities and realities, but most people do not have the ability to access these experiences, or even think that they are possible.

I have dreamed of having Technolini locations in Bangkok, LA, FL, London, Kerala, India, Costa Rica and others. These are places I have lived in my life, mostly while pursuing my education. I think of them as puzzle pieces which have led me to the creation of Technolini and my life purpose and mission; to unify our collective energy by bridging differing parts of the world; dark and light, poor and rich; ancient and future; primal and technological. Thus, these accomplishments are not my ‘end goal’, but part of the creation of Technolini as more than a wellness experience, but rather as a global lifestyle brand and MOVEMENT. <3<3<3

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Where I am today has certainly been a challenge- and I feel as though my entire life has led to preparing me for this present point in time. I’ve had quite an unconventional education experience, that I often feel has been a kind of crazy loop/circle.

From a young age, I knew I was musically obsessed, and would only be happy doing that. However, my parents had not finished their education as they would have liked to before having my sister and I, and convinced me that I should invest in my education rather than pursing my musical career. We did not grow up with a lot of money, and them getting divorced when I was young definitely produced trauma that I have spent the last couple years working through- but everyone has their issues to work through from childhood before they become themselves again before the world convinced them that they needed to change.

After high school, I started my college career in Maryland wanting to go into biology, which then changed into environmental science. I studied abroad in India (it was cheaper than staying in the US), and then in Thailand, and then transferred to San Francisco State because I had become obsessed with traveling and wanted to go as many places I could.

While in San Francisco, I went to an interest meeting for Hult International Business School (a grad school), where I learned that I could get my masters in International Business in one year while studying in London, Dubai and Shanghai. I had become jaded from the modern environmentalist movement of protesting things, and wanted to make a difference with money by creating a sustainable business.

During my year in London in 2019, I came up with the idea of Technolini and started remote work with a marketing agency. When COVID-19 hit, instead of starting an internship in corporate events in Dubai, when the world shut down, I went to stay with family in Florida with the intention of staying a month. But, I found a home there and launched Technolini into action, holding weekly events. That was at the start of 2021, and this year has been a process of finding the balance between my DJ aspirations and Technolini LLC creation, which has been a great investment of time and energy, as with starting out any business or entrepreneurial endeavor.

In an ironic summary, I traveled the world getting my undergraduate degree and master’s to start my DJ/yoga/wellness business. I have only started my journey in this as well as to happiness in the last year, when I surrendered and let go of my expectations that I held onto thinking about securing a job with my master’s degree, and decided to pursue Technolini and my DJ/music career.

Through my challenges, I have learned that the most important motivator is faith: faith in yourself, what you are bringing to the world, and in the world to become better. We create our realities, and in order to do so, we must have faith in ourselves and the world around us.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
In ATL, I held my pop-up at Little Five Points. This is a great place for all of the above- food, drinks, hanging out, all of the above! The shops, people, and vibes here are a beautiful mix.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My beautiful collective of friends in the festival circuit<3 there are many of you

My parents and family- for what they have and haven’t taught me;)

JCB- My Creative Writing professor in my first year of college who encouraged me to discover my creativity. Despite failing her first class in my first semester, I got an A in her second class I took with her in my second semester. She also encouraged me to study abroad in India, one of the most profound experiences of my life and my first time leaving the US.

Dr. Louise Peters- encouraged me to start Technolini despite my hesitations- my mentor, catalyst and beautiful friend<3
