We had the good fortune of connecting with Brooklynne Hand and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brooklynne, how do you think about risk?
Taking risks has been the heartbeat of my journey with ArtofElisee. From its start, my brand has thrived on daring to challenge norms and embrace controversy. While it’s tempting to play it safe and follow the crowd, I’ve always felt compelled to make my own lane, to strive for excellence beyond the ordinary.

As a creative director, I’ve learned that true innovation often requires stepping into the unknown, venturing beyond familiar territory. Each project is an opportunity to push boundaries, to explore new possibilities, and to leave a lasting impact. While the path of risk-taking can be daunting, it’s also incredibly fulfilling, fueling my why and passion for creativity and growth.

Risk-taking isn’t just about professional endeavors, it’s a mindset that fills every aspect of my life. As a college student majoring in computer science with dreams in technology, I’ve embraced the uncertainty of the journey, understanding that progress often comes from taking bold leaps into the unknown.

Ultimately, risk-taking isn’t just a strategy, it’s a deeply ingrained part of who I am. It’s what drives me to pursue my dreams with unwavering determination, to embrace challenges with an open heart, and to make a meaningful impact in everything I do.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart from others when it comes to my business is a simple and non negotiable principle that I don’t touch my brand if I’m not willing to give it my all. This may seem controversial and can give off the impression that I’m not serious, but I think the complete opposite. I want to produce the best content, and I will not settle for less. So, when I know I can’t give my full attention and effort, I take a step back and give myself the time and grace to come back to something I truly love doing, which is directing.

I still have a long way to go professionally, but I am grateful for all the connections and opportunities I have made and had the pleasure to be a part of. It’s never easy when you are first starting a business, and I am always humbled by the journey. But amidst the challenges, I see beauty in the experience because, there is no testimony without a test. The way I overcome challenges in my professional life is the same way I handle challenges in my personal life, and that is through prayer. I would be nothing without my God, so every time I have a question, concern, or just a general frustration, I turn to God and ask him to lead me through the smoke that is causing my challenges.

A lesson that I have learned along the way is, just because the process looks different, doesn’t mean the promise has changed. My creative process is much different from the next creative, and many don’t understand my reasoning behind a lot of the shoots I direct. But I’ve also learned that not everyone is meant to understand, but just to observe. Not everyone will understand or like my art, but that has never stopped me from doing what I love.

I want the world to know that ArtofElisee is dedicated to bringing visions to reality, no matter if the vision is blurry, crowded, or even not fully developed. Art is meant to be subjective, not easy to understand, in my opinion, and my brand is on the forefront of making people think when it comes to my shoots. Everyone is an artist in their own right, and ArtofElisee is dedicated to bringing your art to reality.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When my best friend comes to Atlanta, I want to ensure she experiences the best Atlanta has to offer in my opinion. Despite being a PG County native, I’ve discovered some favorite spots in Atlanta that I can’t wait to share.

We’ll kick off our adventure at Atlantic Station, where I’ll take her to Sri Thai, my go-to spot for Thai food. I personally love sushi and my favorite roll is, the celebrity roll, but not before starting with the irresistible Bangkok pork appetizer. Because let’s be honest, what’s lunch without a delicious appetizer?

Next on our itinerary is a visit to one of my all-time favorite places in the world, the Georgia Aquarium. While it may seem like a typical tourist spot, the aquarium holds a special place in my heart. There’s something incredibly calm about wandering through its halls on a quiet weekday, admiring at the beauty of aquatic life. It’s a chance for my inner child to find peace amidst the loud city.

Finally, no trip to Atlanta would be complete without experiencing the vibrant energy of Peters Street. As a proud student of THEE ILLUSTRIOUS CLARK ATLANTA UNIVERSITY, I know firsthand the magic that unfolds on Peters Street after hours. It’s where students from neighboring HBCUs and locals alike come together to showcase their talents, breathing life into the streets and creating unforgettable memories.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
ArtofElisee exists today because of the profound love and unwavering support of my family and friends. Their presence in my life has been nothing short of a blessing. Through the highs and lows of this entrepreneurial journey, their encouragement has been my guiding light. There have been countless moments where self-doubt threatened to overshadow my aspirations, and the path ahead seemed dauntingly uncertain. But in those moments, I’ve drawn strength from the undeniable spirit of my mother, Shaun Hand. She is the epitome of resilience, turning dreams into reality with grace and determination. Though she often operates behind the scenes, her influence permeates every aspect of my life, shaping me into the person I am today. Her unwavering belief in me has been the foundation of my endeavors, and I owe her more than words can express.

Moreover, my parents have instilled in me a belief in the boundless power of dreams. From a young age, they encouraged me to reach for the stars, assuring me that with dedication and perseverance, nothing is beyond my grasp. Their unwavering support has fueled my determination and emboldened me to pursue my passions fearlessly. I am eternally grateful for the love and guidance they have bestowed upon me, shaping me into the confident and ambitious individual I am today.

In addition to my family, I am blessed to have a circle of friends who have become like family to me. Madison, Triniti, Ashley, Journei, Ky, Paul, Freddie, Mark, and Sean. Each of them has played a vital role in my journey, offering unwavering support and encouragement when I needed it most. In a world where superficial trends often overshadow authenticity, they have been consistent in showing their belief in me, reminding me of the importance of staying true to myself. Their friendship is a gift I treasure deeply, and I am endlessly grateful for their presence in my life.

In essence, ArtofElisee is not just a business, it is a testament to the love, support, and encouragement of those who have believed in me every step of the way. To my family and friends, I owe everything. Thank you for being my rock, my inspiration, and the reason I am able to bring visions to reality.
