We had the good fortune of connecting with Brooke Nicole and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brooke, what role has risk played in your life or career?
The bigger the risk the greater the reward. I think about risk often and have always been one who’d rather take the road less traveled, risky. Growth is the main goal and it is stimulated by uncomfortability which is especially provided when taking risks. The exciting thing about risks is that you do not know how far your actions will truly take you, unless you follow through. If you’re going to do something stand on it and give it your all. It is extremely important to take proper risks though as your decisions should be wise ones. I, Brooke Nicole believe starting B. Nicole Cosmetix and investing into myself has been one of the greatest risks I have taken and it of course plays a huge role in my life now and futuristically. My own business in which I have my own creative freedom with each and every task is one of the most rewarding things for me. I have put my all and more into B. Nicole Cosmetix and have faith it will return to me tenfold simply due to my brand’s authenticity. Your risks should align with who you are individually and be authentic as possible. Although starting a business is high risk I made the decision no hesitation because I will always bet it all on myself. I know who I am and the brightness of my inner light and its ability to heal others. When I realized my trueness to self and authenticity is able to help others find the same within themselves I had no reluctance to start B. Nicole Cosmetix. My brand is a direct reflection of me and it is still one of my most grand risks to this day.

What should our readers know about your business?
B. Nicole Cosmetix started out with one soap our Charcoal Cleansing Face Wash. Up until 2019, I had been using Biore’s charcoal soap and it was the only thing I used daily. Lots of people would always stop me on campus & ask what my skincare routine was. I honestly didn’t do much other than wash my face with it and put on lotion to moisturize. As time went on and I was looking for ways to start my legacy and began to think what that would even look like. I decided to make my own charcoal soap but naturally. Charcoal face wash was genuinely what I used to create the skin everyone always raved about. The chemicals in all the in-store products motivated me to find a way to provide an all-natural alternative because charcoal worked so well to keep my skin so clear. As a Biology student, when I took Anatomy and Physiology we had an entire chapter dedicated to the skin. It was Chapter 5 and that number instills a distinct feeling of positive changes for me. I took that and began to learn and research even more about the skin and what the best way to cleanse it was and simply added a little charcoal. We did the same in my chemistry lab in order to extract impurities from a substance & make it pure we added a gram of charcoal powder so I figured it could do the same for the skin. I incorporated all these experiences into making B. Nicole Cosmetix Charcoal Cleansing Face Wash and it is still one of our top selling products today! It’s the foundation of the company. As B. Nicole Cosmetix began to grow I began to provide more products and started to create things geared towards other skin issues like hyperpigmentation and dryness. I get into this very light-hearted peaceful energy when I create my products niavely hoping it seeps into each and every batch. I have learned so many lessons along this just shy of 2 year journey, especially how to scale a business such as this one. In the words of Lil Baby “I started off wrong but you can’t tell me I don’t know nothing”. I want the world to know that my brand is authentically me & my desire to help everyone reach the ultimate amount of self-love and pure happiness. I pour that desire into each product with hopes someone will feel the same blissful feelings of life that I do.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to a different part of town each day. The house I grew up in is located in Lithonia, Georgia so I would start there and go to my house to see where and how I grew up then we would go up to Panola Road and Covington Hwy and find something to eat. Maybe Davidos 375 Pizza or Las Collinas Mexican Restaurant or the American Deli depends on how we’re feeling that day. Moving throughout the eastside, the next day we’d head to Little 5 Points my favorite area to frequent and we would, of course, eat at Little 5 Pizza! We would spend that day shopping and stop into Sevenanda to pick up some natural ingredients for my products. Fasho gonna stop into Wish and pick up some kicks. Continuing into Midtown for day 3 we would go to Ponce City Market first renting bikes to ride around the beltline stopping to watch the skaters skate, and gets some flicks in front of all the art on the walls :). There’s so many food spots to choose from and to end the night we’d head up to the Ponce City Market rooftop for dinner or Skyline Park for a fun night vibe. Day 4 for sure we have to make our way to TopGolf because I LOVE TopGolf!! Especially in the summertime, order some food and a few drinks whoever is on the aux always gets me turnt. Day 5 its 10th and Piedmont for brunch, then we’ll head up to Piedmont Park to catch a chill vibe maybe ride some scooters. Definitely stop into Atlanta Fish Market for dinner where I’ll get anything with scallops. Day 6 we will eat at Busy Bee and stop into Kelz Kitchen for her last night then we outside I love strolls downtown. Lastly, of course after our splurging all week we’ll stop into Slutty Vegan for some good clean eatz before dropping my sis off to the airport.
