Meet Brittinie Love | Chef and Caterer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittinie Love and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brittinie, what role has risk played in your life or career?
When I think of risks… I think about faith. I took a leap of faith believing God will cover and provide for me, choosing my passion over what I knew. I left corporate and what was taught and suggested to work a job for 30 years, save for retirement, and simply said to myself. There has to be more to life than this. Taking the risk of working for myself was something I had never seen anyone do around me. It’s a risk to leave a paycheck you know is coming every 1st of the month versus not know when or where the next check will come from.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Cooking with Love started in the pandemic in my apartment kitchen. But my love for food started as a tender age of 4. I always wanted to be a chef. When most kids were watching cartoons. I was watching the food network channel. Or helping in the kitchen someway. It wasn’t easy walking away from my job of 5.5 years working ofr the State of Oregon in Child welfare. However, food kept drawing me further away from Corporate. The challenges I had to overcome were the fear of the unknown. The why’s and How’s and just trusted that, it would all work out.
The lessons I learned most was more about myself than it was about the work itself. Trusting my gut, ignoring the negative thoughts, speaking positively over my business. Knowing that I had the power to speak it into existence.
I want the world to know that Cooking with Love is not just catering food. Its about giving our guests a luxury food experience. Knowing that they will walk away not just with their bellies full. But they will feel joy, laughter, and love. Because truly everything we do, Is founded in love. We are a full service brand with customized cocktails, decoration, music and entertainment and serve with such elegance.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Being that I am Portland Oregon based. I would take them to several local food spots! Portland is top rated cities for our food and restaurant experience. Of course they would get a home-cooked meal from myself. I would have a custom cocktail tasting done by Marti-NiNi. For music Brandon Dean hosts events called “Coming to the stage” where he had new developing artists perform at local event spaces. I would ha e them visit Multnomah falls, Mount Hood, the Portland Art Museum which is where I am a preferred vendor and currently have an event for Black Artists of Oregon exhibition happening. Movies in the park. Jazz festivals, etc
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shout out my mom. Dad, siblings, friends and spiritual mentor. They are my support system. My prayer warriors. They encourage me to keep going and reassure me that I am exactly where I’m supposed to be.
My Crewlove family: NiNi, Zaria, Brandon, Jade, Latrice, Monica, Nafisaria, Ray, Rich, and Destinee. They are all incredible people I love deeply who have supported me each and every step of the way. I partner with a few of these individuals who also have their own businesses and dreams of their own. However, they cheer for me, work beside me and believe in the future of Cooking with Love. I love yall
I do this for God and Logan my amazing son. Who loves his momma.
