We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittinee “Polo” Pierce and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittinee “Polo”, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I came up with the idea behind my business by painting my own house one day and messing it up! Lol I’ve never picked up a paint brush a day in my life, this is why I feel like this is a God given talent/Gift! I wanted to add some life into my home so, an idea came to mind and said “paint your house” and that’s what I did the same exact day. I’m very proactive and if my mind is set on it, I’m going to do it. As I was painting it was soothing for me and actually fun! My mind was just focused on painting and doing a good job at it and here I am 7 years later! I’ve perfected my craft along the way and my hands are truly blessed. I just wanna continue to provide quality work with each job!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m a professional commercial and residential painter. I mostly call myself a “creative” because I’m very creative. What mainly sets me apart from other painters/businesses is I tap into other lanes involving paint. I do abstract art, I create custom jeans/shoes and custom furniture. I’m excited for the future by seeing my name blasted all over and being one of the most recommended businesses out there! I got here where I’m at today is by being consistent and not giving up. I’m not going to lie though, this journey has not been easy lol it’s been so many days I wanted to throw in the towel but I always remember why I started, what keeps me going and where I wanna be! Lessons I learned along the way is that all money isn’t good money and you have to focus on your target audience! Break away from what you’re use to because strangers will support you more than the people you know! I just want the world to know that if you have a vision GO FOR IT! Ignore the naysayers and stick to your journey. Your path is different than others and your journey isn’t going to make sense to others, as long as it makes sense to you then that’s all that matters! My business provides fast quality and reliable work that I’m proud of.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First I would take them to Atlantic station. I love that spot and it’s so much to do out there. You can shop, eat, play catch some nice black owned vendors and also you may end up catching a nice concert sometimes! Next stop will be the battery. You can catch the braves game and chill at some dope spots over there. Downtown too of course but the traffic is crazy! lol I’m still getting a feel of the A because it’s so much to do here but those 3 spots will be in the plan and the rest we can explore along the way.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost God! Without him none of this would be possible so it’s a must that I keep him first at all times! Secondly I would like to shine some light on my mother and grandma (may she rest in heavenly peace) those two women have been my backbone and support system. My mother always motivates and supports me through whatever it is that I wanna do and always encourages me! She keeps me focused when I feel like giving up and always tells me “I’m blessed and keep my eyes on the prize!” I love them beyond words.
