We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany LeCesne and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brittany, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
Probably how Makeup Artists can so effortlessly connect others! I’ve been called “The God Mother” of my Industry. I have connected all types of different expertise to one another!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Who am I? I’m a professional makeup artist serving Metro Atlanta and surrounding areas with over 15 years’ experience in the beauty industry. I specialize in Bridal, Beauty Portfolio, Film and Theatrical looks. I also come highly recommended by top producers, stylist, photographers and directors in the entertainment and beauty industry. What sets me apart from the rest? I am the Experience. I don’t lean into the words “Makeup Artist” or my many years of experience. I lead with being the entire package from head to toe. Trend, fashion, styling, professionalism and work ethic. I’m most excited about launching the Brittany LeCesne Makeup Academy this Spring!!!! 1st cycle starts May 3!! What’s a Makeup Academy??? The Makeup Academy Is a 9-Day virtual educational experience to gain not only the makeup skills but the business skills to get your freelance business off the ground! What sets us apart? My students will be The EXPERIENCE from head to toe!! Clients can book Artists who’ve completed the academy, with hopes that they will deliver in the areas of expertise, professionalism and punctuality! My personal goal in life is to lead with a purpose. Knowing that it isn’t about status and experience. Knowing I can lead another aspiring Makeup Artist into his or her career with the stroke of a brush. True intentions to why I paint. I want to Add value to others Brushes are therapy for my soul. Makeup is therapy for me. It’s a release. When I touch someone, I can pour into them what they pour into me. I desire to enhance the beauty he or she were born with. I know I am leaving a piece of me when the makeup is done. My Clients Intent to rebook is because of my energy. Makeup for me is a connection to souls. It’s not about faces I’ve touched but souls I have entered and left a mark.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would first start off with brunch at 10th and Piedmont! I LOVE THIS PLACE!! The vibes alone are AMAZING!! So eccentric and eclectic!!!! Then, we would go shopping at local boutiques, I’m not a mall type girl being that I’ve worked at one for half my life, so we’d probably walk around midtown and sight see what real Atlanta has to offer! Then, she would check into the Twelve Downtown Autograph Collection hotel!! Very NICE hotel!!! The next morning I’m taking her to Gocha’s Breakfast Bar, a quaint and mellow spot wit all the R&B vibes you’d ever want to hear! Food is Phenomenal!!! We would end the nights Thursday- Saturday at Club “Lyfe” one of Atlanta HOTTEST night clubs!!! There’s also the most satisfying food at The Goodz which is the restaurant inside the club!!! Then we’d hit up some amazing spots that are historical around Atlanta etc.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to dedicate this shoutout to all my fellow Makeup Artists who’s afraid of letting go that 9 to 5 to pursue their dreams!! “What if I fall???… Oh but dear, What if you FLY?!!!” Is a quote I love to live by!
