We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Geertgens and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittany, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I am a serial entrepreneur and started my first business at the age of 15. So being a business owner has been apart of me for a very long time! But when I first started Sassy Girls ATL a year ago I was in the process of wanting to grow my friend group with like minded, friendly and genuine women! I felt like the mean girl energy was something that I was struggling with when meeting new people. I wanted to create a space where women felt safe, heard & important no matter their background, tax bracket, interest/hobbies or career path. I put my events, people skills & business expertise together to create Sassy Girls ATL.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

Our events are designed to bring together women from all backgrounds to inspire, support and uplift each other. By creating meaningful connections and fostering a strong sense of community. Our events provide a platform for women to share their stories, exchange ideas, and celebrate each other’s accomplishments. Whether it’s a networking event, a workshop on personal development, community event, or a fun girls’ night out, Sassy Girls ATL strives to empower women to be their authentic selves and embrace their uniqueness. Together, we are building a tribe of strong, confident, and fearless women who are making a positive impact in the world.

I got to where I am today by having a support system and team. No matter how bad you want to build an empire alone, you can’t! You’re going to need a team and support. Things haven’t always been easy and I’ve never had anything handed to me. Everything I’ve accomplished I worked for! I remember when I started my first business at the age of 15 I sacrificed a lot of things. While my friends were going to parties, prom and hanging out on the weekend, I was with my sister at our office putting in the work and raising our baby (our business). I look at where I’m at now and all those sacrifices were so worth it!

I’ve learned a lot of lessons along the way but the biggest lesson I’ve learned is to be unique. Just because you see someone else doing something and being successful at it doesn’t mean that’s what you need to be doing too. Find something that you’re passionate about and put your own twist on it. Be authentic and true to yourself in everything you do. That’s what will truly set you apart from the rest. Embrace your individuality and let it shine through in your work and your interactions with others.

Remember, success is not just about the destination but also about the journey. Be persistent, stay dedicated, and keep pushing forward even when faced with challenges. Surround yourself with a positive support system that believes in you and your dreams.

Celebrate your wins, no matter how big or small, and learn from your losses. Each experience is a stepping stone towards your ultimate goals. Stay humble, stay hungry, and never lose sight of the passion that drives you.

In a world full of followers, dare to be a leader. Believe in yourself, trust your instincts, and never be afraid to stand out from the crowd. Your uniqueness is your superpower – embrace it, nurture it, and let it guide you towards the success you deserve.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Family Empire who not only are my partners but have been my biggest support system deserves all the credit and recognition when it comes to my career and success! I would be nowhere near where I am if it wasn’t for them. I’m beyond thankful for all of their support and encouragement!
