We had the good fortune of connecting with Britni Ariel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Britni, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
One thing that has always been common in whatever position I’ve held, is creativity. I’m naturally a very creative person who creates within multiple mediums. Whether it’s music, food, event curation, marketing and more, I have to be creative in my career roles. As a creative, it’s often hard to find the right fit as people tend to put you in a box, but I’ve found that as long as I’m able to create and inspire in my work, I receive joy and fulfillment.

Being a creative, to me, means I’m always creating, innovating and bringing the ideas in my head to life. By pursuing a career in music and entertainment as a creative, I’m able to make a living expressing myself, bringing people together, bring my ideas to life and become my most authentic self along the way. I’m continually rewriting my story every day and I hope that through my creative endeavors I can leave something behind and inspire future generations to come.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
From 2014-2020, I worked as a professional in the music and entertainment industry in various roles. I’d always been an artist throughout this time, but I decided not to pursue it in order to truly learn the business of the music industry. While working in the industry, I served in artist management, music publishing and event production, working with clients in Atlanta, New York and LA.

In 2016, I founded my company and brand, Britni’s Bandwagon, as an opportunity to connect, develop and provide resources for independent artists, producers and creators. From 2016 – 2019, we hosted 6 Bandwagon Sessions, recording and writing sessions, various networking mixers and shows for independent creators of Atlanta.

Once the pandemic took a turn in 2020, I decided to pivot to finally pursue a career as an artist, releasing my first single Secret Lover in September 2020. During this time, I also honed in on my craft as a cake artist, growing the hospitality arm of my business and creating cake and dessert catering for special events across Metro Atlanta, while developing new, creative recipes, inspired by my favorite music.

The past three years since my debut single, Secret Lover, release, I’ve been developing myself as a music artist, performing in shows, writing and learning music production, recording and developing my skills. I’ve also obtained a Master’s of Science degree in Marketing in order to learn how to grow and expand Britni’s Bandwagon and Bandwagon Publishing as a business.

I’m excited to announce that I will be releasing my sophomore single, Fears, in September 2023 and my debut EP, Metamorphosis, to follow in Fall 2023! This project will give a brief highlight of love, growth and healing that I’ve experienced in the last three years. My hopes are that this project will inspire other creators to love, grow and heal from whatever they’re going through in order to become a better version of themselves.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m a music lover and a foodie and some of my favorite spots in the City often provide both.

Our Atlanta tour would begin on Thursday with an Open Mic Night at Kat’s Cafe in Midtown. The food and drinks are delicious and the vibes are unmatched. We can listen to the live band and see who steps up to sing or play during the open mic and most likely I will hop on the mic!

On Friday, we’d take a yoga class at Lift Yoga & Body, then end the night with a light dinner at Vas Kouzina in Alpharetta.

Saturday morning, we’d go to the East Palisades trail in Sandy Springs for a morning hike, tacos from Chi Chi Vegan in Druid Hills, then chill until the evening time. Saturday night, we’d head to Osha Thai in Buckhead for dinner then to Rocksteady in West Midtown for dancing and drinks.

Sunday morning, after church, we’d head to Nourish Botanica to pick up some green plants and get an afternoon drink. We’d end Sunday evening early with an early dinner at Colony Square, Politan Row Food Hall and enjoy King of Pops for dessert.

A nice relaxing weekend with fun, food and great company is my perfect weekend, enjoying the City that I love the most.
