Hi Britney, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
My absolute favorite quote is an excerpt from the Renowned Poet, Nikki Giovanni. The poem is entitled Choices.

“ If i can’t do
what i want to do
then my job is to not
do what i don’t want
to do
It’s not the same thing
but it’s the best i can
do…”

I live by this excerpt because for so long I made choices based on what others felt I should do. It’s important to really look inside of you and fulfill your heart desires.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am the owner of Baked By Bee. It’s a home bakery based in the Middle Georgia area. I have been baking pretty much my whole life. It started off with just helping my grandmother in the kitchen but then it became a passion. As I became older, I would use it to help cope whenever I was stressed. I created some of my best recipes that way in fact. My recipes set me apart from others. I make things with just the right amount of flavor and sweetness, so that one doesn’t overpower the other.

For a while it was only something I did on the side. However my passion grew more and more. I had to fulfill my heart desires. June 2021 I decided that I would leave my full time career and pursue my passion full time. The most challenging area for me is time management. I’m always feeling like there’s more I can do. Sometimes I spend too much time with my business but I’m steadily finding balance.

Baked By Bee is dedicated to seeing people’s faces light up when they see their cake or treats and even more when they bite into them. My goal is to always provide not just something beautiful but also a taste that will never be forgotten.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I reside in Macon, Ga. Macon is home to Greatness. The downtown area has grown tremendously over the years and is filled with history as well. Great places to visit for historical purposes and entertainment would be Douglas Theatre, Tubman Museum, and Grant’s Lounge. For a night out, I love to visit X-Art Sip and Paint Gallery and Brookhaven Lounge. These businesses are Black owned and beyond amazing. Of course there are so many other great spots as well but these are some of my personal favorites.
