We had the good fortune of connecting with BRIITTANIII.K and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Briittaniii.K, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk for some may be scary but for others it’s a thrill. I’ve always been a risk taker/rebel, going against the grain while expecting a great outcome. I tend to hear “I can’t believe you did that, I would’ve never” or “You’re crazy”. I believe taking a risk is vital, necessary. Taking a risk can shape you, strip you from fear and bring new insight. Risk taking for me has brought many beautiful experiences in my personal life and career. When I sit back and reflect on the benefits received from one small or big risk, I realized I made the right decision by simply trusting myself. One of the biggest risk I took was moving from my hometown (San Francisco, Bay Area) to LA, to pursue my dreams; it was one of the biggest risk and best decisions I’ve made in my life. Taking a risk is a decision, a decision to fully believe in whatever it is you want the risk to bring you.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I think what sets me apart as an Artist is I’m a triple threat; I not only sing and write but I act too. Im so hands on with everything from directing, producing even designing clothes for videos or photoshoots. Ive built sets like a barbie box out of a refrigerator, recorded myself on a track, (thats out on all platforms) and recently been an extra on television shows like Grey’s Anatomy and the movie Creed 3. It has not been easy in anyway shape or form, but I want this more than anything. I started in a girl group and after that fell through I faced my biggest challenges. It was really me v me; I had to step up, face a lot of truths, and do what I needed to do, to find myself and my sound. I learned a lot of lessons about myself and about others a long the way. I’d just like everyone to see me and know that I never gave up, through trial and error I still pushed through and continued to give my all to make my dreams come true. I hope my story can encourage people to do the same.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well I’m from San Francisco, but I live in LA, so I’ll give some places from both. For San Francisco, Pier 39 is one of my favorite attractions, especially if you love water and city views. Its just beautiful to say the least and there are many restaurants to choose from. I’d eat at the Cheesecake Factory on the top floor of Macys in downtown, just for the views, otherwise there are many local restaurants on every block in the city. If you cross the bridge to Oakland Lake Merritt is another popular spot. Jack London is fun for night time attractions with an adult bar/bowling alley alongside arcade games. In LA riding down Hollywood blvd, or driving up the hills to catch a sunset, simple things in LA bring the most pleasure. Venice which connects to Santa Monica Beach is always fun for a bike ride or to just walk on the boardwalk. LA has such a vast variety of things to do, endless bars, malls, mansion parties whatever you can think of.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d love to dedicate my shoutout to my little brother Ray, I hope this encourages him to strive higher and recognize the capabilities and possibilities are endless. Fatimah Patrice is a lyricist from the Bay Area, that poetically and estecthically kills every line alsongside her amazing visuals. Sis deserves all the credit and recognition! She always shows love and from one artist to another that means a lot.
