We had the good fortune of connecting with Brianna Gardocki and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brianna, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
It might sound corny, but it was my destiny. Although, it did take me years to realize that art could be my career! I had no idea what I wanted to do in college and tried a few different career options, but none felt right. I started creating art at a young age, I always enjoyed it. Growing up, I took AP Art in high school and knew I had artistic talent. It wasn’t until I graduated from UGA and took a huge risk (moving across the country to Albuquerque, NM) that I realized I could make art my career and shouldn’t be afraid to do that. I registered my business and started vending at pop-up events with prints of my art. A few years later, I began creating murals. Creating a piece of public art that brightens someone’s day when they pass by is extremely fulfilling! I’m so excited to see what the future holds for my art career now that I am back in my hometown of Atlanta, GA!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As a professional multimedia artist, I specialize in digital art, murals, and paintings. My work showcases vibrant color palettes, bold lines, and imaginative themes. I explore diverse subjects by drawing inspiration from music, films, pop culture, and other extraordinary visual artists that fuel my creativity to design stylized and imaginative artworks.

In 2018, I found out about digital art. Digital art is when an artist creates art on an iPad or Wacom tablet instead of traditional pen and paper. I decided to give it a try and fell in love with digital art! It was honestly a game-changer for my art! I began creating ALL of my art digitally. I was obsessed, I still am. I continue to design everything digitally first, even a mural or painting. I enjoy mapping everything out and making sure it is exactly how I like before starting with more permanent tools such as paint.

I am proud of every single mural I have created. The first mural I ever painted is the largest mural I have produced. It is 53 ft wide by 12 ft high! It is amazing to reminisce on that mural and think “Wow, I really did that!” It took me a couple of months because I was still figuring out how to transfer my design to the wall and navigate painting in the wind, on a ladder, and the roof. This mural was in a busy traffic area across from the mall and while I was working on it, many people came up to me to tell me how beautiful it is and how they enjoy passing by it on their way to work. It was amazing to hear such kind and positive words about my art. When I create a mural, it feels like I am giving a gift for everyone in the city to enjoy.

I’ve gotten to where I am today through my passion, determination, and talent. But that’s not all, to be successful, you must work well with others. I cherish the people I have worked with and the relationships we have built. I want every client I work with to be thrilled with my work and love working together.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Some of my favorite places in and around Atlanta include Stone Mountain (ride the Skyride to the top and stay for the laser show!), Coca-Cola Museum (must try Beverly!), Georgia Aquarium, Botanical Gardens, Fernbank, State Farm Arena to watch the Hawks, Truist Park to watch the Braves, Piedmont Park, Lake Lanier, and many more!

Food must-haves include Fellini’s Pizza, Mellow Mushroom, Barberitos, Marlow’s Tavern, La Parrilla, South City Kitchen, Community Q BBQ, Ippolitos, the Vortex, Dip and Dots (at the Braves), and many more!

There are so many awesome things to do and eat in Atlanta, there are no wrong choices!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Of course! I wouldn’t be where I am today without my parents and my fiancé! My mom and dad are the best, they are my biggest supporters, who have supported me since literally day one. I got all of my talent from them, my mom and dad are very artistic. They are extremely proud of me and wish me continued success in my life and art career! I am so thankful for their unconditional love and support!

My fiancé, Morgan, was a major driving factor in my decision to make art my career. During and after college, I struggled with figuring out what my career should be. Morgan and I would have many long talks about career paths, happiness, and life. He helped me see that art was my only career path, because it is my true passion. We enjoy working together to grow the art business! I am so grateful and lucky to have him in my life!
