We had the good fortune of connecting with Breezy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Breezy, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I fell in love with all forms of art at a young age. Music, dance, art, acting, writing, all of it is an expression from the soul and I love seeing it come to life. I really enjoy and appreciate the process, how an idea is formed to seeing it executed is what makes being a creative worth it. I knew at a young age that I wanted to be a creative in some way. Whether it was dancing or singing, writing or acting, I had to create. So that is what I’m on the journey to doing.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

I like to call myself a star in the making. I’m constantly growing and learning within the industry and business I’m in. I’m nowhere near where I’d like to be. I am currently in radio as a host and have my own podcast but my ultimate dream is to be an entertainer. I love to sing, dance, act, model, really all of the above. So hit me up if you’re looking for talent. One of the biggest challenges I have that I think everyone can relate to is consistency. It’s hard to be consistent when life is “life-ing”, but also comparison sneaks in. I’ve learned that comparing your work and craft to others, is not ideal.
Overcoming the idea that mine isn’t good enough because everyone else is doing it or wants to do it or has done it, is something that I still struggle with. But with God, I continue to understand my purpose and know that we all may have the same goals or interests but we’re unique and set apart. The world needs what I have and what others have. The two can coexist.

I’m still up and coming but you will definitely be seeing more of me soon.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Tamika – AAMBC Inc organization (based in Atlanta)

I started out as an intern in her organization and now I’m exploring and learning more about the literary and film industry. She loves to help build people up and grow. I’m happy I’m gaining experience with her. Her Black Writers Weekend festival takes place every year in August. This year is Aug. 1-4, 2024, so mark your calendars. It’s for all creatives!
