We had the good fortune of connecting with Briana Perry and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Briana, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The thought process behind starting my own business was always creating generational wealth for my family. I have a ten year old son who motivates every part of me. Pretty Flawed stemmed from my family. Growing up in Connecticut it wasn’t too many young female business owners at the time I got mine started. It’s a very rough town to live in. I didn’t grow up the best ways and I carried that ugliness with me up until I decided to start working for myself. My mothers words stuck with me she used to tell me you could be the prettiest on the outside but if your insides were ugly nothing mattered. That inspired the name she passed away on my birthday in 2015. I decided in 2018 to start the process of change. Fast forward now to 2022 I am going into my second year of having a legal business here in GA.

What should our readers know about your business?
Pretty Flawed LLC isn’t just a small business I consider myself a Brand already. I got where I am professionally solely from my resilience alone. Running a business isn’t easy!! Especially in a community where everyone considers the beauty or retail industry “Over Saturated”. It’s trial and error in most cases in the beginning , I believed in my products more than I believed in my ability to sell them. I inspire others daily Pretty Flawed is who I am in and out , I didn’t have the best life in my teenage years and I projected ugly energy into the world.

My mother told me for years “Even the prettiest diamond had a flaw”. And those words stuck with me after losing her. If it wasn’t for the tough moments in life I would’ve never found my purpose and took that very much step of faith to start my business. Lessons I’ve learned and I want the world to know about me and my story is to never give up! Don’t let your fears outweigh your faith EVER!!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Me and my best friend are the two biggest foodies. We love expanding our palettes and trying new places. I love Japanese food and a new restaurant has opened up that we both are really excited about that would be the first stop for us.

Second stop we would go down to the river walk and ride the boats relax on the water and enjoy the views we love our peace and quiet moments. Would probably bring a basket with wine (red & white) grapes and a mixture of cheese for her since I am lactose. We’d have our books and just wine down time literally.

We love golf too golf would be third. She hasn’t been there yet we don’t have too many golfing events back home. Good place to have good drinks and relax. They have really nice margaritas there and the wings are awesome.

We have 4 Children in between the two of us she has my three god sons and my son Aiden as much as we enjoy our free time we can’t have too much time without our children we’d be taking them to arcades and excursions in the area my son loves the local bowling alley stars and strikes he’s been talking to my god children about it frequently.

I have made another friend here who I enjoy hanging out with and her family I would introduce the two and have us all go to this local black owned spa I fell in love with around Mother’s Day called The Oasis Spa. I had one of the best experiences there and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to relax and get the best massage.

Downtown is really my favorite place to be so far since I’ve moved down here. It’s always fun vibes and different energies around. Tons of different things to do from ax throwing to escape rooms etc. she would love that also

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost thank you Briana Ellington for this recommendation. It means so much to me that people see something in me that I don’t always see in myself.

The second person on my thank you list would be my team. I have the best friends and ambassadors working with me and I couldn’t be more blessed. They hold me up in times when it’s needed most.

Third would have to be my mentor Quinniya Welch another up north boss babe who’s helped me tremendously over the years. She’s pushed me to get into being a women’s advocate and marketing helping others just like she helped me. Thank you sooo much 🙏🏽
