We had the good fortune of connecting with Brian & Miranda and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brian & Miranda, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Our goal is to bring joy to our community and the earth through flowers. From seed to blooms we work with sustainable, organic growing practices that are aimed to bring nourishment to the pollinators and soil. Once we harvest the flowers, our hope is that our locally grown flowers will be spreading joy and enticing unforgettable memories of celebration and comfort from loved ones. Furthermore, we hope to educate our community on the importance of sourcing locally and the benefits that come for both the consumers and the surrounding businesses. While slowing down to appreciate what each season brings, there is a lot to learn about what’s blooming around our community.
What should our readers know about your business?
What sets us apart from other businesses is our ability to combine our business backgrounds of marketing, PR, large-scale event management, and event design with our love of flowers and our community. Individually we have created businesses in these areas and have been running them for the last 8 years now with many lessons and perspectives learned along the way. We are excited to bring our experiences of client relations, artistic design, and business development together to create a business influenced by flowers and our ecosystem that will sustain both our family and community in a holistic manner.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If we were to take a friend around town to our favorite places during the week we’d start by going to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens no matter the season there is always something beautiful to see and learn about flowers. After a stroll through the gardens, we would grab lunch at Ariepas Mia a spectacular Venezuelan restaurant in Avondale Estates. We would definitely need to start a day or two off at the best coffee shop in the burbs REV Coffee in Smyrna, GA. Once the weekend arrived we would wake up early in order to have the pick of Atlanta’s best produce from local farmers/farmhers and artisan goods at one of the many outstanding farmer’s markets, we frequent Freedom Park, Peachtree Road, & Vinings Farmers Markets.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We want to thank Ashley of Rodgers Greens and Roots farm in Douglasville, GA. Brian’s background is primarily in the entertainment industry and when the pandemic took live events out of the picture, he turned toward a new interest and found a job listing while browsing Good Food Jobs. Brian’s curiosity led him to work on Ashley’s farm and fall in love with working with soil, growing seeds, and harvesting.
“Dirt to Soil” by Gabe Brown was a great book to start understanding the value of soil and we are constantly listening to “The No-Till Flowers” Podcast by Jennie Love.
