We had the good fortune of connecting with Brett Owens and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brett, how do you think about risk?
Taking risks is the only way to succeed in my opinion. Being comfortable gets you no where. Taking risks and breaking away from my comfort zone Was the best decision I ever made!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’d say the thing I am most proud of is being a part of the community of creators in Atlanta! The amount of talent we have out here is incredible. Everyone I have met out here in this community has always been so supportive and they always push me to want to be better! As an actor there are always a ton of challenges no matter how far you go. It’s been rough but everyday feels like a chance to learn something new. It hasn’t been easy and still isn’t but I welcome those challenges and just see it as a new opportunity to grow!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First place we would go is Highland Bakery for breakfast, then we would go to see an afternoon show at The Fox Theatre, and stop by my favorite convenience store across the street afterwards called Ponce Mini Market to grab a bottle of wine (they have a really good wine selection), then we would head south of Atlanta to my home town south of Atlanta Senoia and grad a bite to eat at Maguire’s and maybe a coffee at The Coffee Shop, then head to my favorite comic book shop over in Peachtree City 1st Edition to show them around the selection of comics that they have, then head back up to Atlanta to walk The Beltline and stop at some bars along the way, and maybe end the night with a movie at The Starlight Drive in or something.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My wife is my number one fan! She deserves all of the credit! There would no Brett without Rebecca! Words couldn’t describe how thankful I am to have her in my life! Not to mention the huge group of people that have always been in my corner. My mom and dad Dee and Brian Owens of course, my manager who has always had my back from the start of this journey Sean Pharms at Stellar Artists Management, the incredible people at The Avenue Agency, my acting coach Rick Andosca, one of my closest friends and fellow actors Dan Price for the long nights taping auditions with me, and all of my incredible friends and family who I wish I could mention one by one you know who you are! Couldnt thank these people enough!
