We had the good fortune of connecting with Brent Fannin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brent, what do you attribute your success to?
Good relationships, hands down. Anyone can smile and provide a service, but when you take the time to actually connect with clients and colleagues on a friendly level, it makes work that much more fun and fulfilling. I like to laugh and make friends with those around me and hopefully it makes the world a better place, even if it’s just for the duration of a single project.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve struggled with chronic neck issues for awhile and, after more than a decade of work in animal training and conservation education, I recently had to shift my career to something less physically taxing. It was pretty scary to make such a huge life change. A few years ago, I began using a drone to photograph the Florida Springs, one of my environmental passions. After many long nights talking with my fiance, I decided to turn what I loved into a business. With her support, I spent months studying and eventually passing the FAA pilots certification and started my first LLC.
I think the biggest lesson I’ve learned over the years is that you can’t do things like this alone. You have to be vulnerable and lean on those around you if you want to really achieve your dreams.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When not working, I’m a bit of a treasure hunter. When a good friend comes to visit, I like to take them to some secret spots in rivers north of Atlanta to do some gold panning. It’s likely that I’ll also convince them to join me on a trip to photograph something new with my drone. I’m also a huge fan of grabbing a drink on the deck at Henry’s in Midtown and then catching an ATL United game at the stadium!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to dedicate this shoutout to my mother-in-law, JoAnn, who’s willingness to accept me into her family in a big way has really made my heart happy. She’s always supported me and Jordan in our endeavors and I couldn’t be more excited to be joining her family!
