Today we’re excited to be connecting with Brenda Thompson again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.

Brenda, thanks for joining us again. Just to level set a bit for folks who may have missed our last interview together, can you briefly introduce yourself?
It’s great to reconnect! For those who may not know me, I’m Brenda, the founder of HouseLift Design, a luxury interior design firm based in Marietta. We specialize in custom home builds, renovations, and curated furnishings. We’re thrilled to be expanding our brand with the launch of HouseLift Home—an online store offering a carefully curated selection of furnishings and decor—set to debut in Spring/Summer 2025.

HouseLift Design began over a decade ago with a simple mission: to help homeowners create beautiful, functional spaces that feel effortlessly cohesive. What sets us apart is our highly personalized approach—we believe a home should reflect the people who live in it, not just follow trends. Over the years, we’ve built a reputation for designing spaces that artfully merge luxurious features with personalized, inviting touches—all while providing our clients with a seamless, enjoyable experience.

The journey has been incredible, and the growth of HouseLift has been especially exciting. With so many homeowners nationwide seeking design guidance, we created HouseLift Home to make our expertise even more accessible. Soon, fans of HouseLift can confidently select and purchase furnishings, knowing our collections have been thoughtfully curated to create a cohesive and elevated space.

Awesome, so we reached out because we wanted to hear all about what you have been up to since we last connected.
The past year has been one of growth and refinement. HouseLift Design was recently featured in Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles magazine, highlighting one of our projects that was honored as Kitchen of the Year—a recognition we are incredibly proud of. We’ve also been fine-tuning our processes to create an even more seamless experience for our clients, from the initial concept phase to the final styling touches.

HouseLift Home marks an exciting new chapter. By combining our full-service design expertise with a curated shopping experience, we’re giving homeowners the confidence to furnish their spaces with a designer’s stamp of approval. I’ve always known that people want to feel assured in their design choices, but they often don’t know where to start or how to put things together in an elevated way. Providing that guidance—whether through full-service design or by empowering homeowners to make confident, well-informed purchasing decisions—is incredibly rewarding.

Looking ahead, I’m most excited about continuing to push creative boundaries, incorporating more color, pattern, and personality into our designs while staying true to our signature livable luxury aesthetic. Personally, I’m looking forward to the challenge of balancing it all while making time for the things that bring me joy—family, travel, and, of course, SNL reruns with my husband Matt.

We have now arrived at one of our favorite parts of the interview – the lightning round. We’ll ask you a few quick questions to give us all some fun insights about you.

What do you want people to remember about you and your brand? What are some of things that you feel are most important, unique, special, etc?
At the heart of everything we do—whether it’s a full-scale renovation or a simple design recommendation—is the belief that a well-designed home has the power to transform how you feel. My goal has always been to remove the stress from the process, helping people create spaces that feel intentional, beautiful, and uniquely theirs.

For HouseLift Design, I want to be known for our commitment to excellence, creativity, and a process that makes luxury design feel approachable. For HouseLift Home customers, my goal is to make design more accessible—empowering people to make confident design choices, knowing they have access to thoughtfully curated pieces that bring cohesion and charm to their homes.

And personally, I hope to be remembered as someone who brought warmth, creativity, and joy into people’s homes—and maybe even made the process a little more fun along the way.
