We had the good fortune of connecting with Bransha Gautier and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bransha, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
As an artist, inspiration comes to me in many ways and forms. I observe the world around me and can find inspiration in the seemingly everyday stuff. From travels, people I get in touch with, exploration of diverse cultures and their rituals, books, etc. However, I have to say that my most successful or most satisfying creations are always coming from stillness and surrender to the act of creation itself. For me that’s the best way to be inspired and get new ideas

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Well, I’m multidisciplinary artist exploring mostly ethnic tribes and their rituals, preservation of the indigenous arts and culture throughout photography, painting, animated pictures, and film. I started my artistic journey already as a child, by drawing on walls and ruining my sister’s and mom’s clothing by recreating it my own way. That passion for arts and crafts never disappeared, instead it became my profession that led me to travel and work in extraordinary places all over the world. Since I work in diverse art fields it’s a bit difficult to choose just one style. My short films
and videos are mostly animated, experimental; I paint in art-nouveau style and love to take portrait photography as well street & documentary sometimes. What ties my art together above all is maybe bohemian style and definitely the strong colors that are like a signature of mine and can be seen in all my art aspects. More importantly I use art to spark a social change however I can, especially today with all the fake news, political injustice, corruptions etc. Some of my main themes are ethnicity, spirituality, gender roles, political agendas…However I always use diverse styles, textures and/or I’m trying to apply some new medium or different, unique approach to the already existing idea. My artistic path was deferentially not the easy one. Along the way I came across many challenges: plenty rejections, unpayed gigs, back-stabbing, stolen artworks, just to name a few. However all these challenges were very valuable lessons to me because they stir my art journey in the other, ultimately better direction. That taught me that in life defenetlly everything happens for a reason and if you let it happen and if you truly accept it it works actually for you. Every failure is a concealed success that we mostly don’t see right away. Instead of dwelling upon the disappointing circumstances I try to focus on learning and growing from every mistake and use them to overcome maybe some weaknesses or develop new skills. Of course it doesn’t work every single time but it is definitely better to have positive then a negative mindset and most importantly to learn to just let it be.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Actually there are so many people and even situations that I’m deeply thankful for. It’s like many special moments frozen in time. Allone each tells a single story and together they brought me where I am today.. From my Silva Methode teacher who introduced me to the whole new world and taught me to believe in miracles via my true soulmate who not knowingly awakened again all my passion for art to the Master Eckhart Tolle who opened up the whole new dimension to my life. Having a chance to work in Sudan, India, Brazil and other exotic countries, learning about their cultures and practicing their traditions, enriched my life to the fullest. Meeting and collaborating with other amazing artists and great personalities such as Eric Estampador Caballes and Mimi Kirk brought me not only personal satisfaction but exposure around the world. And mostly my closest friends and family who are there for me no matter what.
