We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandon Suggs and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brandon, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Honestly it has changed throughout the years. At first it was just supposed to be a blog about discounts to local attractions and restaurants. Then it grew to be a community blog we started working with local organizations to feed the homeless, book bags for kids and Christmas outreach programs. Which led us to become our own non profit Live Life Half Price Gives two years ago. Then we included travel finding affordable ways for people to travel. We started hosting party buses to events like Mardi Gras in New Orleans. Last year we started hosting cruises. So our thought process was never one thing it was a way for people to live life outside the box without them living outside their means.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Starting a business is never easy. The start up cost, time, man power etc. It’s a sacrifice that you hope will pay off. What i feel separates us from other businesses is how touchable we are. We are active in our community. We show up to the events that we post. We love doing giveaways. We hang out with the customers that buy tickets on our trips, The best advice i can to overcome the obstacles of running a business is if it’s your passion then treat it like it’s you child. You wouldn’t give up on your child so don’t give up on your business. Last year out Christmas outreach event made it on the news that was a proud moment. Another proud moment was receiving a grant from Walmart for our non profit.
Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
