We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandon D. Mills and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brandon, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
Not to count tomorrow’s money. Deal with what you have and focus on what you have to do next. There are no off days. You have to do something, whether its the smallest thing towards your goal or business every day.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I remember being asked what I wanted to be in life. My answer was an actor, a business man, architect, and motivational speaker. I didn’t know how to become an actor but my friends and random people would tell me that I tell good funny stories, I remember Bernie Mac and the rest of the Kings of Comedy along with Kevin Hart, Katt Williams and so many more great comedians became actors from doing Stand up comedy. So, at 16 years old, Roy Wood Jr. performed at the comedy Stardome in Birmingham at our football banquet. I decided I wanted to give it a shot but, I didn’t give it a shot until I was 27 years old. Since then, I have hundreds of shows, became an actor, been on BET Tales twice, currently in 5 plus movies, have several skits and short films on platforms like Peacock, Tubi, Amazon Prime, and my own platforms. Also, I have a nice size platform across social media where I influence people and bring them closer to God (whom is the head of my life). Lastly, I have a real estate company and pressure washing service. I started these services to help me leave my job comfortably so that I could have more time with my son, to focus more on my purpose, to help build up communities, to provide services to people who needs them, and to just be free and be who God called me to be.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well, I have a friend who moved here to Birmingham, Al. He wanted to know the city. In one night I took him to Sleek Sport Bar, Hush Hookah Lounge, 3000 Bar, The Vault, Saferoom, Dirty Ashes, and Cassanova’s! These are some of the more popular spots I go to, to hang out. But also, I like to go to Railroad Park, Regions Field, walking on trails, and going to the gym to play basketball. When I get out, I just like to be around good people and good vibes. Connecting with my people is important to me.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to dedicate this to my close friends and family. Why? Because, I have a great support system. Whether it’s spiritually, emotionally, mentally, or financially. My support system consists of all of these people.
