We had the good fortune of connecting with Brad Zawacki and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brad, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I have always wanted to start my own business, but could not think of what I wanted to do or be good at. The idea of starting an apparel brand came when I was fighting for my life with COVID in the hospital in July of 2020.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have had a long career in wireless telecommunications infrastructure. I worked for manufactures of components that basically send the signal to your smartphones.

I have always been involved in sports, especially baseball. After a near death bout with COVID I came up with the idea of starting a baseball lifestyle apparel brand called GRIT Baseball Co. My two boys play baseball (one in college), and they provide a lot of creative ideas I have in my t-shirt designs.

Everyday is a challenge. One day I would like my two sons to take this over and run with it. Balancing my everyday priorities and teachings can be a big challenge. I work many hours to keep up. The biggest challenge is understanding what is topical, and learning how to market the company through social media and other mediums.

One thing I’d like the world to know about GRIT Baseball Company. Although we are focused on baseball, GRIT is an intangible trait that one must learn to have to get through life. GRIT helps you focus on your goals, along with giving that extra effort to push through adversity. That’s why our tagline is “GRIT…all you got!” In everything you do, you must give it ALL YOU GOT!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Places to Eat the Varsity
Nana G’s (chicken and waffles)

Places to visit
Tour Coca Cola museum
Tour the aquarium
The Battery and catch a Braves game
The Chateau Elan winery
Go fishing and visit waterpark at Lake Lanier Islands

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to say my father. He was a long time football coach and instilled GRIT in his sons from day one. I am passing down GRIT to my two boys as well.
