We had the good fortune of connecting with Boogie Lov and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Boogie, did college have a meaningful and positive impact for you?
College definitely stamped a major impact on my life/career, I attended two. First, An HBCU (Historically Black College and University) – Elizabeth City State University located in North Carolina. I was apart of the marching band – Cymbals Line, pledged for the drum line – P.O.I.S.O.N. They instilled discipline, patience, endurance and demand practice so that it creates confidence. Second, AIA (Art Institute of Atlanta) taught me the technical aspect of music and the importance of networking. I received my first internship with Compound Studios while attending The Art Institute of Atlanta. I’ve gained so much knowledge and experiences from attending both, that looking back if I would’ve changed my mind for either my life wouldn’t be what it is today. The price tag is pretty steep but, you can’t put a price on your Dream. Whatever it Takes!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Never compared myself / brand to any other because once you focus on others that’s where you start to fail. The technique I’ve used to move forward/grow has been to note the areas of opportunity and go for it. B.Lov sets light up rooms while emanating energy from the booth that transcends to the dance floor and keeps everyone coming back for more. Always dishing out album cuts, along with hidden gems from various styles of music, and fan favorites. B. Lov endears her audiences through an unquestionable vibe that has become the essence of any party she spins at.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and Foremost would like to Shout Out The Higher Power for always guiding and protecting me every step of the way. My Parents & Family/Friends. Queens of Society, Protect yo Energy, City of Ink, Effect Fitness, The Village Market, The Vibe Ride & Ms Iceys Kitchen. Thank you for continuously pouring into the community and leading by example.
