We had the good fortune of connecting with Blair Linsley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Blair, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Owning and operating a business completely transforms your perspective on work-life balance. It shifts from the mindset of clocking out and being done for the day to leaving the office only to begin prepping for the weeks ahead. From handling payroll, social media, and ensuring bills are paid, most of these tasks happen after I’ve seen my last patient for the day. Add to that the need to be fully present in my children’s active lives—whether it’s cheer competitions or school dances—and it’s easy to feel like you’re juggling too much. The biggest adjustment has been learning that I can’t carry this burden alone. Leaning on my staff and spouse has been essential to keeping everything afloat.
Another key change has been setting boundaries, like turning off communication with brand reps or clients (outside of emergencies) after a certain hour. The idea of balance implies that both work and personal life are equally weighted, but I prefer to think of it as work-life harmony. There will be times when one takes precedence over the other, but both are equally important and need to remain in harmony to keep everything moving forward.
With the opening of our new location on October 3rd, the demands are even greater, but this approach to harmony has been key to navigating the challenges ahead.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Although Cavina—a beautiful blend of my children’s names, Cohen, Avi, and Nash—was founded in 2022, my journey in the industry began nearly a decade earlier. I’ve worked for other firms, but it wasn’t until I was repeatedly asked to join a practice that I had my lightbulb moment: it was time to open my own space, despite entrepreneurship already running in my blood. My father owned restaurants in Wisconsin, my mother had her own retail stores, and my brother runs an appraisal business, so the entrepreneurial spirit was always present.
What truly sets Cavina apart is our commitment to partnering with clients to achieve their goals, rather than being driven by the bottom line. We make sure our clients feel they’ve accomplished what they set out to do without exceeding their comfort zones financially. This trust helps us build lasting relationships, which is reflected in our incredibly high client retention rates.
I’ve always prided myself on doing things the right way, treating clients with respect, and never cutting corners for short-term savings. While this approach can sometimes be more costly or take longer, I sleep better knowing I’m doing things ethically and setting a positive example for my kids.
One of the hardest lessons I’ve learned in business is the importance of finding trustworthy partners. I’ve always tried to see the best in people, but running a business has taught me to be more cautious, as some may try to take advantage of that. Thankfully, I’ve built a strong support system and found a wonderful team that helps Cavina thrive.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The best part about living in North Georgia is the endless variety of activities to enjoy. My family loves being outdoors, and the trails at Sawnee Mountain are perfect—both nearby and family-friendly. After a good hike, we’ll often grab midday drinks at Halcyon, then end the day with dinner on historic Canton Street in Roswell. Starting in 2025, we’re excited to welcome some great new neighbors at the Southern Post development, which will offer fantastic coffee, doughnuts, gelato, and amazing restaurants. If you haven’t tried high-intensity yoga or a cold plunge, Southern Post will have those too!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My business wouldn’t be where it is today without the unwavering support of my loving family, especially my parents. They’ve been more than just an inspiration; they’ve given me invaluable advice along the way. My husband has also been there every step of the journey, often working behind the scenes or stepping up as my test dummy, allowing me to perfect my craft.
I’ve always taken pride in supporting others in the aesthetics community because I believe there’s more than enough business to go around. My best friend, Melissa Kemp, who runs Georgia Aesthetics and Wellness, has been a constant source of inspiration. We regularly bounce ideas off each other, discuss the latest treatments and techniques, and challenge one another to grow every day. Her encouragement and support are things I will forever be grateful for.
