We had the good fortune of connecting with Bilal Fatwa and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bilal, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I really fell in love with djing and started practicing everyday to hone my skills. Once I had the opportunity to spin in front of a crowd, I was addicted. It never felt like I was actually working so I put everything behind it and never looked back
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
No, it wasn’t easy. Any obstacles I faced I overcame by not giving up, learning from my mistakes, and asking for help when needed. Along the way, Ive learned to always keep an open mind, maintain solid relationships with everyone, and networking whenever and wherever. I want the world to know that I love doing what I do and plan on reaching the pinnacles of my career path.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to all the major Atlanta sports home games. We’d try different restaurants around the city like Breakfast at Barneys, Rocksteady, Hattie Bs, Slutty vegan, fogo de Chao, and many more. Id take them to try different activities like the different museums, axe throwing, bowling, and maybe six flags
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Definitely want to shoutout my friend DJ Spacecamp. He was a big part of my career and has inspired me to do everything I can to grow my brand
