We had the good fortune of connecting with Bhavna Misra and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bhavna, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
Another thing people are often unaware of is how emotionally vulnerable it is to share your art with the world. Every piece an artist creates carries something personal—whether it’s a memory, a feeling, or a quiet observation—and putting that work out for others to see can feel like revealing a part of oneself. Even when the response is positive, there’s always a risk of being misunderstood or having the work reduced to trends or quick judgments. Sharing art isn’t just about showing skill—it’s about opening up to connection, critique, and sometimes silence.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My career as a visual artist has been shaped by passion and persistence. I’m deeply connected to nature and place, aiming to capture the quiet beauty and emotional rhythm of landscapes by blending observation with imagination. My work invites viewers to pause and reflect on the environment and personal experience.

Building my career wasn’t easy—I faced challenges balancing creativity with practical demands like promotion and opportunities. Through discipline, resilience, and support from mentors and peers, I’ve grown both artistically and professionally.

I’m proud to stay true to my vision while remaining open to growth. My art is a heartfelt expression of my relationship with the natural world—an invitation to slow down, notice, and connect, rooted in authenticity and thoughtful craftsmanship.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Here’s a quick week plan: brunch and galleries, hiking and gardens, museums and music, a nearby town visit, spa and tasting menus, hidden spots and live jazz, then a relaxing farewell brunch and dinner. All about nature, art, food, and local vibes!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Absolutely! I’d like to give a heartfelt shoutout to the local art community and mentors who have supported me along the way. Their encouragement, honest feedback, and shared passion have been invaluable in helping me grow as an artist. I also want to recognize the natural world itself—its beauty and subtle complexities continue to inspire and challenge me every day. Without these influences and the people who believe in the power of creativity, my journey wouldn’t be the same.
